Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

3 adults and a 15 year old visited here (again) last night on one of there opening evenings. Again absolutely brilliant! The sky was stunning even the ISS flew over! All the domes were open each had great speakers inside and got to look through one telescope to see the moon! All the information from the students is so interesting! Highly recommended especially if the weather is clear! ⭐️🌙👍🏻

We visited the Observatory with our two young grandchildren, on an open day in August. These open days are regular events, and are the only times that the telescopes are manned and open to the public. Our visit was on a Sunday, during day time, so although some of the telescopes were open, they weren't pointed at the night sky. The university students manning the observatory were very helpful, and there were lots of pictures and other things to see during our visit.
We parked in the Bayfordbury Campus car-park only a couple of hundred metres from the telescopes, and parking was free. There were no refreshments available. An interesting afternoon which our grandchildren enjoyed.

It's a few years since we left the University of Hertfordshire but, when we were working there, we visited the Observatory on more than one occasion. It was interesting for those who wouldn't normally have seen the moon and stars at such close quarters.

We have been to this observatory twice. Both times, we have not been able to see anything because it wasn't a clear night. We had have a look at the moon on one of the occasions. The evenings are well organised and the staff are knowledgeable, and there are still plenty of things to do (e.g. lectures, workshops etc.), even if the weather is not good enough for you to actually see anything.
