Please avoid! Pretentious and miserable staff is the only way I can describe our experience.
I asked for gluten free cake (I'm a coeliac) and was offered hideously stale gf cake - the worst I've ever had and had the pleasure of paying nearly £3.00 for.
When they didn't have the gluten free afternoon tea option, the staff tried to encourage me to buy a whole gluten free cake for nearly £6.00 and then said, " I'm prepared to let you have a knife to cut some off and allow you to eat it here and take the rest home"!!! I felt pressured into buying it before my friend gave me a look.
Once we ordered our drinks, we were told to go to the till to pay. Despite being next to us and seeing we had ordered, the till staff kept filling shelves knowing we were waiting to pay. In the end, I had to say something.
We both felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome so we drank our tea and left.
I will never go there again. Awful experience, awful staff and awful prices!

One of the best days out we’ve had!
We attended the Big Tractor Experience this February half term with our 3y/o. All I can say is thank you so much, we all had so much fun. It was a great experience, my 3 y/o got to sit in all of the big tractors and he loved every moment of it. We ended up spending over 3.5 hours here as our 3 y/o didn’t want to leave and to be honest, we were more than happy to stay. Us adults even sat in the tractors, haha. It was fantastic. It was very well organised and not too busy. My 3 y/o got to spend time in each of the tractors and there was never more that 2 people/families in front of us. The fact it was so well organised and not too busy really made all the difference as we got to spend time having fun and not rushing for the next person or spending ages waiting. The sand pit and ride on’s are also a great touch, along with feeding the goats and the play area after we had lunch. Also, I need to give a special shout out to the beef and horseradish sausage roll, I went back for another lol. I cannot thank you enough for such a great day out. I can’t wait for the next event and will also be making a trip for a sausage roll in the mean time. What a gem to have so close by. We have attended so many child activity events in Hertfordshire and Essex and so many of them are a let down, actually most of them are so this really made a difference and restored my faith in fun days out. The staff there are also very friendly too. Thank you!

Just back today from a great Glamping trip with some friends. We stayed for two nights and its a great/peaceful location. The views from the Safari tent as the sun was going down was bliss, with a lake right in front. The staff were very friendly, alongside access to a pet shop which was great for last minuet essentials for our Pup. There was fresh bread and milk provided which was very handy alongside lovely tasting Scones, cream and jam. The only criticism I have from our stay is just how not very dog friendly the actual Safari tent was itself. There is a gate on the decking and the bottom clip was barely hanging on, making it very easy for my dog to slide underneath, which meant he was on the lead for the majority of the stay to ensure he couldn't get out of that area. There was also parts of the fencing around the decking area that were loose and actually ended up coming off, which lead to a rather large gap (compared to the size of my dog) to get out of also. As a result of this we had to place the BBQ in front in hope this escape route would not be brought to his attention. The farm shop Cafe was slightly pricey, we had 4 bacon rolls, 3 milk shakes and tea and it came to around £30. There is a really great burger shack located on sight and the food was amazing alongside some really cheap prices. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would return but maybe in one of the cabins instead of the safari tent.

What a lovely day out! We visited today for the first time and I can say that it really exceeded my expectations. The animals were very well cared for and friendly and my daughter loved feeding them. The sandpit area and ride on toys was also a great addition.

We sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine with coffee and cake from the cafe which was delicious!

Will definitely be returning. Very reasonably priced too

We have just returned home after a beautiful stay at Foxholes. We stayed in the Herdwick Safari Tent and it was absolutely spotless, there was not a speck of dust anywhere. The bed and bedding was so comfortable (so much so I’ve already ordered the brand of pillows for home!). We were spoilt for choice with a roll top bath and a log burning hot tub - both exclusive use.

Based in a working farm, we were able to see a happy and healthy group of animals and get up close to them with feed. We were lucky enough to visit on the same day as some newborn goats - a real once in a life time experience (for us anyway!). Waking up early, I felt safe to walk across to the alpacas by myself and it was a great start to the day!

Every member of staff was delightful and polite - no one could do enough to help. I’m jealous of those who get to work there in such beautiful surroundings.

We went as a couple, with no children, but loved both the relaxation and the farm park just as much as little ones I’m sure!

We cannot wait to go back and will be recommending to all our family and friends.

P.s the scones in the afternoon tea were to die for!

Waste of time and money!!!!!!
Went to foxholes farm yesterday with my two girls and husband.
Absolutely disgusted with the price of £9.50 each didn’t matter what age you were….. we went round it TWICE in one hour because there was Hardly anything there very disappointed!
I feel robbed of money and sad for my children who were really looking forward to a good couple of hours of fun and barley saw anything not because the animals were in there houses it’s because there’s barley any animals there!!

It’s such a shame as I love supporting the local specially with the couple of tough years we’ve all had BUT I will not go again and definitely won’t be recommending it to anyone!!!!!

I wouldn’t mind paying couple of pounds each which if everyone did that’s good amount to pay food and up keep of animals but for a family day out £40 later for barley nothing was a total waste of money!!!

What a disappointment, visited yesterday for some lunch. Lovely tea room completely deserted. Now it’s only a take way ‘deli’, situated in the shop. Yes they had quiche, sausage rolls etc, but only two sandwich fillings egg or tuna, bread was dry and not fresh and that was it, no lettuce no cucumber. Had Cappachino that was just basically hot milk. Dry crumbly pieces of cake on display, that had certainly seen better days. So disappointed, where’s the lovely breakfast gone, friendly helpful people, home cooked lunches or just a lovely variety of cake and a nice cupppa. To me this is not progress, I understand things have changed with the dreaded “ COVID” but please this visit was so disappointing . Maybe with lots of other activities going on up there, you have forgotten that people of all ages loved that tearoom it’s friendly staff and lovely treats.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review, we no longer have a tea room, but we do allow our customers on a bleak day to use the space to sit indoors rather than the farm garden. Our takeaway menu consists of so much more, but we do wish you could have mentioned your comments to our staff on the day of your purchase. Your comments will be fed back to our team and thank you once again for visiting.

I don’t mind the price for adults but £2 for an under 2 as well I think was a lot for actual size/facilities of the farm.. The farm area was small but has potential for improvement.. however the overall experience was abruptly ruined by the rudeness of the staff in the farm shop (staff on the farm itself were lovely)… not so much as a hello, thank you or a goodbye…
