Will definitely make this pub one of my tegulat haunts for food and drink
Really friendly pub. Nice garden. Food lovely. We had the special, slow roasted beef short rib. It was excellent. Also had ham, egg and chips which were equally good.really nice, friendly stass. The pub has a really good atmosphere and vibe

Good service on a summer's day
The entrance might be a bit tricky for some to navigate with the steps but the service inside is fast and welcoming. There’s a small number of tables out the front which are a real sun trap and despite being next to the road are relaxing. Decent pub and one worth popping into if you’re in the area.

Perfect place for a winter’s day
I visited the White Hart Tap today and had the Chicken Breton special . It was incredible! The chicken was perfect in the cider and leek sauce! The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful! Muchas Gracias! Percy!!

Nice pub - very average food
The beer choice is good and the service was friendly and efficient but the food was very average. To start I had Halloumi Fries, which were fairly tasteless This was followed by Ham, Egg and Chips Good chips and peas but 'slippery' (tinned?) ham and overdone fried eggs. I would go back for a beer but not for food, which is a shame as previousy it was better.

Rude surly staff made it an unpleasant experience. This used to be a friendly pub - better pubs to go to in St Albans where you will be made to feel welcome. We won’t be going again.

Very good pub food. Staff friendly and efficient.
Excellent menu at reasonable cost for a pub so close to the city centre of St Albans.
Visited for the first time with friends after a long walk.
Will definitely return when we are in the St Albans area.

The White Hart is a nice pub, but unfortunately despite booking ahead and paying a deposit we were sat at a tiny table that wasn’t big enough for 4 people, with two of us on stools and the door to the kitchen propped open immediately next to us. We asked if we could sit at another decent sized table that was free but were told someone else had specifically requested that table. Obviously they had been there before! The front door was left open throughout so the room was freezing even with a dividing door between, as this was used frequently by waiters and guests to move between sections of the pub. The roast was fine, with tender meat and enough gravy, but the vegetables were so undercooked we couldn’t even eat the sprouts or broccoli, and the roast potatoes weren’t crispy at all. There was a good selection of beer, so we would recommend for a drink but not Sunday lunch.

We popped in for a meal on a weeknight whilst one of our kids was at a sports club. Pleasant atmosphere with no loud blaring music Friendly and attentive staff. Great pub food with several decent vegetarian choices. Delicious home made chips. We will definitely be back

Really, really, really good chips!!! Homemade as well so extra points for that. One of the staff did say my friend gave her a headache and my panini never came.
