About
An eighteenth century working watermill museum and bakery. The mill produces organic stoneground flour and artisan loaves are handmade in the bakery. The majority of our organic grain is grown on a neighbouring farm giving our flour and bread the lowest "food-miles". There are four floors of the mill to explore and the mill's Crossley HD11 oil engine normally runs on Sunday afternoons.

Has a fun day breaking bread and learning the basics of bread making. Got to make couple of sourdough loaves and a bunch of other stuff. Got to take a way a huge amount of bread and got lunch. Would recommend.

The biscuits and pastries goods are hand made and use better ingredients than in a typical high street bakery.

The bread is excellent and again hand made.

The stone ground flours are superb.

The prices are good.
Recommended.

Fantastic gem of a place where you can see the mill in action some days and buy a fabulous loaf of bread. It's right on a long distance walking path so could feature as part of a long walk, but check opening times. Really friendly people with a passion for what they do.

Recently enjoyed a baking day here. It was brilliant from start to finish. Really hands on and we were able to ask as many questions as we liked of Stephen who really knows his stuff. We took home everything we baked which was loads! Had to freeze a lot of it there was so much. Can’t recommend highly enough to anyone who has an interest in making their own bread.

Thoroughly enjoyed the bread making course. A proper masterclass, embedding the process, and made me realise that making bread is not as difficult as it seems. Was also lovely being out doing something different!

I did the bread making course a little while ago at the Watermill and Bakery. We were given a warm welcome, tea and coffee, food and fantastic home-made soup and learned a huge amount whilst making a variety of breads and sweet treats. A great way to slow down and relax, and to walk away with the Mill's own flour, all your baking and a host of goodies. Received as a great present.
