.I visited the cafe today and i was very unhappy with the Food + level of customer service. When we got to the counter we ordered 2 coffees and 1 cheese bap+1 sausage bap.The assistant seemed to be in a world of her own.I wanted mustard with my sausage bap.I had to ask twice at the counter and the assistant said ok.We went outside to eat our food and when it arrived there was no mustard so i asked the waitress again for the mustard to which she replied i will go and get a jar for you.10 minutes later still not arrived. So i had to go back in and ask for a third time until i finally got it.The sausage bap i recieved was barely warm and the bread was very dry.I have been a loyal customer at this cafe for many years but im afraid i wont be returning anytime soon.

I absolutely love Burstons garden centre, great restaurant for hot meals or snacks, wonderful selection of plants & gifts. My grandchildren loved the summer play area outside and still talk about Santa’s grotto & the talking reindeer & the beautiful setting followed by childrens afternoon tea which was great. We have spent many happy afternoons at Burstons & are so looking forward to being able to return & also enjoy tea & cakes in the restaurant.

I am disabled so I was interested to visit a garden centre.I visited on a Saturday afternoon at around 13.00 , it was a damp day in Feb so was not expecting it to be busy. There is disabled parking just by the front door and a large car park. The interior is very spacious. The outside was large but it was cold so we stayed in side. The assortment inside is mind blowing. The restaurant was very busy, that was because the food was reasonable priced and presented to a high standard. (I was not expecting that in a garden centre). The staff were very busy and friendly. We had a bit of a mess up at checkout (our fault) the cashier fixed it in a professional manner. A damp day in Feb was a pleasant one. The only bad side was i spent to much money.

My friend and I visited the garden centre as we'd wanted to go out for a cream tea. She comes from Devon, very used to being able to go out to numerous places for a cream tea but on enquiry, we discovered that most places up here, tea had to be booked at least 24hrs beforehand. This was the reason we ended up in this very well set up garden centre with good cafe. The signage leading to the cafe was good and the display of delicious looking cakes was very tempting! Well I gave into temptation and had a slice of extremely lavish chocolate cake and a tuna mayonnaise sandwich. My friend decided on a baked potato with coronation chicken and a wonderful sized homemade scone and butter. I had a coffee and she had a can of diet coke. We were both able to help ourselves to a much-needed glass of water as well. The eating area is a good size and bright and clean. We both absolutely loved the wall size mural paintings and we were able to find a table that when we took a photo looked as if we were sitting by a beautiful river! Staff were clearing tables when previous clients had finished but they weren't obtrusive and with a quiet smile or nod. It may have been that we arrived towards the end of service and therefore the rush of lunch and early tea was over but we were spoilt for choice of tables to sit at. We weren't made to feel hurried and we enjoyed a pleasant break. Afterwards we walked around the garden centre with all the riot of colour in the Primulas daffodils and those beautiful first signs of spring slowly emerging from the rather colourless days of grey winter. Both of us love these days when shoots start reappearing in our gardens. I saw many things that I could have very easily been tempted by as the fantastic range of garden ornaments, clothing and tasty treats sold in the shop is almost mind blowing. It's so good to be able to walk around under cover, not all but as it was rather windy, we stayed under the walkways, again the staff were friendly and smiles apart from one lady who was probably getting rather tired and not that happy with two women getting in her way as she tried to move some plants around. It might have looked as if we were being slightly irritating but Im disabled and sometimes stumble a bit and can't get out of the way quickly. This though didn't dampen our visit to this really well thought out place. The only reason that I have given a score of 4 is that my friend's baked potato was rather overbaked in the skin so hard to cut through and my chocolate cake could have done with perhaps a little more moisture. It is a place that I definitely want to revisit. Thank you to all concerned
