Seven of us did the 40 minute boat trip, the experience is vey relaxing. Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable and funny, but get ready for his cheesy jokes....admittedly some of them were funny! I would recommend this trip, it's a lovely thing to do on a sunny afternoon.

Me and son absolutely loved it. It was both fun and interesting and was the highlight of our trip. I will definitely recommend to ask for captain Charlie, who is not only funny and charming but also clearly passionate about history. enjoy!

This tour was a bit too short, a lot of cheese coming out of his mouth and maybe some of the facts were assumptions. If the tour was longer and not just a trip up and down 100 metres of the river it would be more value for money. I'm sorry but I wouldn't recommend this tour as I had... More

Don't miss the chance to see this delightful part of Canterbury. A leisurely 45 minute tour along the Stour River through the middle of historic Canterbury in a row boat was made hugely enjoyable and interesting thanks to our "Captain" Charlie's enthusiasm, great knowledge of local history, sense of humour and somewhat dubious rowing skills (sorry Charlie, I couldn't miss... We did a Friday morning tour. Our guide Kriss was great. We learned a lot from him and he had a good sense of humour. The tour doesn't cover a lot of distance but there is a lot of history even within that short distance. I wouldn't recommend the tour for families with young children though. There's a lot of... We took one of the river tours which was well worth every penny. The young man who was in charge was very well informed and very humorous , he told us lots of information about Canterbury and the history of the river.

We were extremely disappointed by the Historic River Tour. The tour took about 40 minutes, but guide George (Captain Blackbeard) talked nonsense for about 20 minutes. I don't like jokes about Jesus being in the Pizza Hut 2,000 years ago etc. As a Christian it was even painful for me. When he started talking about the fire in the mill... More

I have lived in and around Canterbury for many years and today was my first river tour. Well worth the £22 family of four ticket price. Well organised, informative and just enjoyable, even for my 12 year old and 14 year old sons who are difficult to entertain these day! Our guide, Henry, did a great job of rowing, telling... More
