Went with my partner popped in on a Friday just before going to dinner elsewhere. Stopped of for a drink not really expecting much as it was empty and no one was performing. However, to our surprise a magician came over to our table for what felt like our own little private show to wow us with his card tricks. Think he was called Matthew, it was a lot of fun and a nice surprise before we headed off to dinner elsewhere. Fully recommend this place

I can't begin to say what a fantastic evening we had. From the minute we walked in. We sat down and Matthew, barstaff and trainee magician came to our table and performed a few tricks. Richard Harrington the main magician was exceptional. He performs tricks at your table... how cool is that. Overall our evening was absolutely amazing. If you're ever in Canterbury, get yourselves in Houdini's. You really wont regret it

What a great idea! No cover charge and reasonable drinks with some of the best close-up magic I've ever seen. Ten minute set piece shows, then the magician moves from table to table cracking jokes and amazing the crowd. Different show every night .... yes we went back!

We chose Houdini’s Magic Bar in Canterbury for our son’s 6th birthday party and the choice was spot-on. Terry and Sam were simply amazing and their service fabulous. Kids and adults were entertained until the end, the birthday boy had his special attention. Kids did not want the show to finish! Everything was nicely organised. I would definitely recommend this place for any occasion. Thank you for making my son’s birthday magical.

What a great little place! Definitely worth a visit if looking for something a bit different - great atmosphere and nice and busy. Magic Mike was excellent and had everyone baffled with his magic… please visit!

Booked Houndini's for my child's birthday party. Really lovely team who work hard. The team did everything, all I had to do was get the invites out and turn up with the cake. On the day, the team sorted drinks/food. There is a limit on numbers so it's a smaller party venue than some. However, if you want a party for 10-15 kids, I'd recommend looking at this option. The feedback from the partygoers has been that it was thoroughly enjoyable and much talked about once home. The show was great (last 45-50 mins - I didn't really notice the time but it was timed right) and a good laugh for parents too. Parties are 2 hours long which in my view is just right.

We stumbled across this bar on the way to dinner. So glad we did. After asking if we could come in with our 10 yr old (we could) we ordered our pre dinner aperitif from the lovely bartender. We expected to stay just for the one but once Jeremy Goreham (the resident magician) started we were hooked!! He was absolutely brilliant! He used us as his guinea pigs for his final exam at The Magic Circle. We’ve never seen such good sleight of hand so close up. A quirky charming little bar with great staff and an exceptional magician. We’ll make a point of returning next time we visit Canterbury.

We visited the bar earlier this week and we were blown away by the quality of the close up magic that Mike performed! We loved the whole relaxed atmosphere and the bartender made the most wicked cocktails and also performed excellent magic! We had an amazing night and it has to be experienced to fully understand how great a place it is! Alan @ Paula

Had the most amazing time, insane magic from Richard ! Terry and Matt were fantastic barman. I went with my family and I highly recommend! We had the best time and even made friends! The magic is mind blowing and the drinks were incredible! The vanishing act was something to watch itself! Very welcoming and great decor! Will definitely be going back!!

I had the pleasure of going to Houdinis at the start of April, it was better than ever with its new decor! Brought my family along and we had the best time with Magician Richard and bar staff: Terry and Matt! So welcoming, amazing cocktails- so much variety. We particularly love the vanishing act! Would highly recommend to anyone in the area. You definitely have a regular customer out of me!
