We went punting back in September and didn't regret it for a moment. It was a lovely warm sunny day and after a morning of touring Canterbury, you couldn't beat a little rest doing this. We saw plenty of sites and learned lots about the place and how proud people are to live there. The guide was great and full... More

This attraction is very popular. We didn't book beforehand and had to wait for a couple of hours to take a punt trip after putting our names down. At least this gave us time to discover more sites in Canterbury and have something to eat. The punt takes approximately 12 people and is awkward to board and alight from, but... More

I take everyone who comes to Canterbury on this trip. If you like history then this will be perfect for you as the guides are all very knowledgeable and friendly. If you just want a lazy trip down the river then you can just zone out! This is better than the rowing boats as well since you actually go under... More

I had such a wonderful time on Ricky's tour down the beautiful River Stour. Ricky was friendly, extremely knowledgeable about the history of Canterbury and the river and delivered the tour with humour and charm which captivated the entire boat (including children and senior citizens). It's clear that he has a passion for what he does! I will definitely be... More

Took the city cruise (another possibility is to focus on the landscape option. Hayden was extremely knowledgeable, funny and interesting. They also supplied warm water bottles and blankets in order to help with the cold weather. An excellent way to explore this wonderful city.

We really enjoyed the punting tour at Canterbury. 45 minutes with a well informed guide to tell us the history of the tunnels, river and local area. There is a tea rooms were you wait for the tour and you can get deals with a couple of local restaurants. I recommend this tour.

We always try to take some sort of River "Cruise" when we are away as you do get a different "feel" to the place that you are staying - this did not disappoint. Andrew, our "Punter", was extremely funny and very informative - we had a 45 minute trip up and down the river and he kept us entertained all... More

We did the special offer: The Old Weavers lunch and punting tour for £15pp I won't bore you with the resturant review but it was delicious! The tour itself, Having lived in Canterbury for all of my 25yrs of my life I've never got round to do one and why I do not know. Front boarding the boat to the... More

Having worked in Canterbury for nearly 20 years I have seen the outside of most of the buildings, but viewing them from the river gives an entirely different perspective. I never knew there were so many tunnels under some of the buildings. Sebastian, our guide, was very knowledgeable and had plenty of nuggets of information about what we were travelling... More

We went punting down the Stour River of Canterbury for a different view of the city. This is a very relaxing means of traveling away from the maddening crowds. A punt is a flat bottom fairly wide boat that is propelled down the river by the gentle current and returned to your starting point by a gondolier working a long... More
