Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely fantastic first lesson back after ten years with instructor Laura this morning. I rode saf alongside carrot who my friend rode. Was made to feel welcome, relaxed and Laura’s instruction was brilliant - she did a fantastic job of coaching us both at the same time. Absolutely buzzing, a really enjoyable morning will definitely be back for more, thank you Laura. All the other staff were friendly and welcoming also, not stuck up like some places I’d been to with a “who are you” attitude. Felt comfortable enough for banter and fun along the way. Amazing experience.

Our first time here was the last week of 2020 before lockdown, my kids rode here for the 1st time and they loved it! As soon as they were able to open again they came here fore their pony day. The instructors were very professional, very organised activities, and a lovely cafe onsite. I started taking BHS training myself here along with private lessons, my instructor Laura is superb! I highly recommend this place!

We were in the area on the D-day flyover. When it was announced that the fly over was delayed we were making our way to the local pub, when a lovely young man came up and informed us if we would rather have a cup of tea we were to come to Squirrels little tea shop just down the path. We decided a brew was a better idea and so glad we did. We got a great cup of tea in a mug and the couple beside us had snacks that looked delicious. The young girls who were there on work experience were working hard for the little cafe and after consulting their manager introduced us to all the horses. I’m quite afraid of horses, but they made me feel very safe as they had all the history of each horse and if it was alright for us to touch each horse. I actually petted a horse on the nose ! First time in many years. I will be organising my first ever ride on a horse ever because of the set up at Squirrels. Wish me luck!

I have been riding for almost 7 years and I have been to 6 different riding schools. Squirrels Riding School is definitely my favourite. All the horses there are great and perfect for all levels, from beginner to advanced.
Squirrels isn't the biggest of riding schools but it doesn't have to be huge for it to be great. They have a coffee shop where they also sell other everyday products such as Fairy (washing up liquid), Toilet Roll (the essentials) or even eggs!
My favourite instructor is Matt. He has been teaching me for a while now and I have learnt so much from him. It is also quite easy to get to and there is a Pony Club that people are allowed to join. The barn may need an extra coat of paint or so but the atmosphere of the stables is very friendly.
I hope that this review has persuaded you to come!
