Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went in on Saturday lunchtime, not impressed. Most of the tables given over to dining, there only seemed to be two tables in bar area And we got glared at when we sat at one set up for meals. Didn’t seem to have much of a selection of drinks, and were expensive for Dover. They have an outside decking area and we asked if we could go out there and were told yes but it’s non smoking as we plan to use it for meal serving. As it was January can’t see them getting too many takers!!! Left after one drink won’t be back

Such a lovely chilled out, safe, clean and welcoming environment. Jess and Ryan were incredibly lovely, give those two a pay rise! My friend and I were a pain in the butt and said 'surprise us' on a cocktail... surprise surprise we were not keen on the one we were made... too strong for us weak babies !! And without barely a word they offered to make us different drinks on the house since we didn't drink what we were given!
100% recommend this place, shame we were too late for food but I bet it's just as lovely as the people working there.
Happy, happy :)
From two grateful customers!

Stumbled in for food after a day at the castle. Reasonable prices, really nice comfortable dining area, BRILLIANT playlist and great food! The loaded fries in particular were amazing. Would definitely come back for food and drinks.

Pub is very welcoming and COVID-19 ready. Well laid out for social distancing with inside and riverside outside seating. Very clean and fully refurbished recently. Excellent food and 3 real ales. Manager is very knowledgeable of area and places of interest.

This is a recently refurbished Bistro/Bar. Loved the log burner, and no signs of a tv, pool table or dart board. This is a place to go for a perfect catch up with friends, afternoon/evening out with family of all ages. Music plays but not too loud so you can have a good conversation without trouble hearing everyone. Will defnitely use this regularly. Very wheelchair friendly.

We have never been to this pub before but the wife treated me to lunch for my birthday. A bit concerned as it said 'under new management'. I have to say the meal was very good and the drinks excellent. Best part though was the bar person/waitress. She was run off her feet but always had a smile. We would go back just for her!

Having tried another pub, we left there and came here instead and was really glad we did. Bar looked and smelt clean as did the toilets.
Small menu but food was clearly made freshly to order. Wife had cod & chips and I had the burger. Beer tasted good & nice seating area outside. Will definitely be returning next time we are in Dover.

Really handy for the town centre and new retail park, looks much brighter since the surrounding hoardings have come down. Comfortable pub, available for private hire, with reasonable prices and pleasant staff. Loos still need a bit of TLC, apart from that not a bad place with regular karaoke.

Two mates travelling to Somme 100 thought this might be a good pub but were seriously disappointed. Unnecessary loud music, drunken insulting clientele, basic bar facilities. The location should merit a characterful, Kent, working pub- it's nothing like that. Staff were pleasant but obviously taking whatever business they could get.

The last time I was here I was with a guy with a bittersweet face. His name was Ebeneezer.
He was the main geezer and he could vibe up the place like no man other could.
He is the type of geezer who should never be abused.
