Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

what a complete dump. Rudest staff imaginable - we asked if they were serving food - the reply - no and the staff member turned way and ignored us.
Building full of flies , all the tables were covered in empty glasses so we had to clear our own table . £4.00 for a medium sized glass of coke - really ?
The bar was full of very drunk teenagers doing shots - we felt unsafe and left.
Absolutely horrendous experience.

Stopped for lunch-there was a selection of sandwiches, we had 4 different ones and they were all delicious. Very generous fillings with chips, salad and coleslaw. Would definitely recommend.

Such a lovely chilled out, safe, clean and welcoming environment. Jess and Ryan were incredibly lovely, give those two a pay rise! My friend and I were a pain in the butt and said 'surprise us' on a cocktail... surprise surprise we were not keen on the one we were made... too strong for us weak babies !! And without barely a word they offered to make us different drinks on the house since we didn't drink what we were given!
100% recommend this place, shame we were too late for food but I bet it's just as lovely as the people working there.
Happy, happy :)
From two grateful customers!

Great little pub. Excellent food especially the buttermilk chicken and dirty fries. Friendly atmosphere and welcome from all staff. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

We just popped-in before train after white cliffs and it was great decision! Friendly staff, good variety of beer and good choices of snacks, especially dirty fries and halloumi fries. Definitely going back again if coming to Dover.

Pub is very welcoming and COVID-19 ready. Well laid out for social distancing with inside and riverside outside seating. Very clean and fully refurbished recently. Excellent food and 3 real ales. Manager is very knowledgeable of area and places of interest.

Went in on Saturday lunchtime, not impressed. Most of the tables given over to dining, there only seemed to be two tables in bar area And we got glared at when we sat at one set up for meals. Didn’t seem to have much of a selection of drinks, and were expensive for Dover. They have an outside decking area and we asked if we could go out there and were told yes but it’s non smoking as we plan to use it for meal serving. As it was January can’t see them getting too many takers!!! Left after one drink won’t be back
