Green area in Central Dover

Don't waste you time - It is a small green area in central Dover, kids playground, sometimes putting but not worth going out of you way!

Coming from London, Pencester Gardens is relatively small in comparison. However, you can clearly see Dover Castle from the park, there is a bandstand which hosts a few annual events, a childrens well equipped play area and a skate park.

Nice river running down one side with added Art Deco mattress and beer cans thrown in for good luck. Yes! I'm serious. Most of this stuff is from homeless drinkers and drug takers. Although a lot of general rubbish from kids and family's. I've seen way worse parks so I gave it an average score. And it is a nice... More

Only a small park in the middle if Dover Town. You can enter from the main bus and coach area, walk through and come out the other end of town. There are 2 play areas on one side, children's playground and a larger kids skate/bike area. The river runs along the other end with a small bandstand and benches

Pencester Gardens could be a lovely place to visit, a good location, nice size and good amenities. Band stand, Skate Park, Children's Play Area and open grassy spaces. However when you take a walk through the park you don't get the feeling that you'd like to stay long. I certainly wouldn't want to take children there. I know the drinkers... More

The gardens are really just a park. There is a skateboard area near the car park and a smaller children's play area near to it. There are a large amount of drinkers and druggies in this park and although it is safe to use during the daytime I really couldn't recommend a night visit. It is such a shame that... More

A nostalgic preview to my youth but merely a bandstand, skatepark and some grass next to Dover's bus station for a stranger

Pencester Park is a great open space for local events. It has a Bandstand which is used by community groups throughout the Spring, Summer & Autumn and the beautiful and unique River Dour winds its' way around the edge of the park. Fantastic views of Dover Castle can be had from the park and the open space is landscaped with... More

It is sad that "down and outs" sit on the grass with their beer cans; the peace and quiet is spoiled by youngsters on their skate boards in the adjoining skate park. Nevertheless the park remains attractive and dusks swim on the River Dour which also has a few trout swimming near the banks.

Town centre park, small, frequented generally by those the rest of us would rather avoid. Dover at it's worst.
