We went to a wedding here and were pleasantly surprised how nice the interior was. We had dinner in one hall and the disco in another. Both were lovely and the staff was ever so helpful and nice.

We went to a dance there for a charitable event. It was very unexpected to find 2 such magnificent halls within the building. The entrance hall was large and imposing. On the walls were ancient guns, spears etc. Flags were hanging. The windows were stained glass in beautiful colours. Very impressive. In the dance hall there was a large organ.... More

We just passed by and saw that it was open for a fair of local artists who exposed their products. It has a very nice interior and the nave is worth looking at. In the second part of the building there is a little theater, with a nice balcony.

I have not been to Dover for several years and looked forward to a weekend break, staying at the Best Western on the seafront. Hotel reviewed elsewhere. Despite it's attractions of the castle, sea views, sea front, the cliffs, Bronze Age Boat, Dover has always been the type of place that is journeyed through on the way to or from... More

We visited Dover and went to see the Town Hall or Maison Dieu. Dating from 1203 it was originally a religious house and served as a hostel for pilgrim going to Tomas Becket's shrine in Canterbury. In 1834 it was purchased by Dover Corporation as a new Town Hall and Jail. It's a beautiful building with lovely stained glass windows.... More

Been here many times and it never ceases to interest me and I find new things about the place every time I visit. Pity it's not open to the public every day.

Located close to the town centre, impressive, imposing building. As others point out it is spectacular inside, and well worth a visit. However, easily missed is the Zeebrugge bell, hanging on the wall in a recess with a wooden roof to the left of the entry door. The bell hung on the Mole at Zeebrugge and was presented to the town... We visited on a Wednesday as that is when the guided tours are run. The guides are volunteers and as well as being very friendly are extremely well informed, as much information on the building & its wonderful contents as you could possibly want and all for the princely sum of £2. A super experience! The cruise ship companies really... More

This old brick statesman stands in the main road through Dover, it looks very foreboding!! when you enter , you can feel the stress of those who broke the law in the Victorian period. When you enter the Main Court area you pick up many feeling , stress, panic, FEAR!! when looking up at the Judges chair . If you... More
