I love Ramsgate Sands, unlike many other Thanet beaches, you can happily swim here at high and low tide. Many of the other beaches have concealed chalk, flint and weed platforms that are revealed at low tide and are really unpleasant to walk across. In December the sands are quiet and we walked for miles along both the sands and the promenade. Fascinating rocks in places and a good view of the English Channel

Ramsgate's main beach is wonderful both at high and low tide ..... for bathing, walking, gazing out to see, observing birdlife or cloudscapes. This beach offers something for everyone.

My family loves a beach! This one is handy, clean and does the job; a real asset to the town and, on a sunny day with the crashing of the waves, you could be anywhere ... :-)

I have knocked a star off, as Ramsgate is not enjoying the same quality and maintenance that is sibling Margate does in the sands department. There is some work that needs to be done, towards the harbour side of the beach to reduce the shingle and 'bulk up' the sand a bit, as its becoming somewhat washed away. However! I... More
