This place serves a really great range of proper beers and lagers - but also commercial yellow fizzy muck if that's what you like:) The owner is lovely and keeps a great 'cellar'. WELL worth a visit Outside seating at the back too - ideal so sunny days

Friendly atmosphere, good beer, the only downside being that snacks (the only food on offer being rolls, cheeseboard and pork pie) are only served until 8 pm. Otherwise perfect

A friendly micropub. Four real ales were on, mostly local and a number of ciders. I tried an ale, which was served straight from the barrel and was a perfect temperature. The landlord was helpful and a brought my full to the brim pint to the table. Lively conversation was going on and I was soon chatting with locals. Well... More

Was recommended this pub when on holiday to ramsgate by patents. Very cozy, and completely unexpected. Has some lovely beers and ciders at great prices and amazing waited service by the owners and staff. Would definitely recommend, we've been in every day of out holiday.

A bit pricey Quality of ale fine...but no better than several other close venues I took great exception to staff pouncing on me as soon as i finished my drink, i felt pressurised to keep ordering more or leave quickly I shall not return to this venue

What a lovely place. Really glad we found it! Stopped in for a glass of wine for me and a cider for my husband, both were great and very well priced. Service was fantastic and we had a tasty pork pie too! Wish there was somewhere like this close to where we live.

I am a big fan of micropubs. The beer is usually excellent, locally sourced and very well kept. I am also partial to a pint (or three) of cider, and this too is usually excellent. The Hovelling Boat is no exception. I did not try the beer in there, as I found a particularly excellent sweet (and strong) cider, and... More

Wonderful place in a fairly central location. The variety of ales and ciders is jaw dropping ! See photo. Paul and Hailey (?) are perfect hosts, and food is pork pie/ cheese / olives. Good hearty basic stuff. Clientele are usually local and will engage in conversation with anyone who is game. My wife and I sampled several ciders (wife... More
