Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This trip was fantastic from start to finish. A very professional greeting explained everything had been cleaned before departure, and once we were all ready, we made our way to the boat. It is a tremendous boat, a former Special Forces boat, and you feel incredibly comfortable and safe. Stuart, who runs these tours, is a highly skilled pilot of boats and really knows how to ensure everyone enjoys the experience.
We set off out of the harbour and made our way across Pegwell bay, spray in our faces and grins from ear to ear, eventually arriving at the River Stour estuary, where he slows the engines down, and we gently and softly make our way towards the seals.
On arriving, we are told all about the history of the river, the area, and all about the Seals, and each individual seems to have a character of their own. With the engines off, we drift gently inwards on the incoming tide, and the seals acknowledge us but show no interest other than to pose and show off how splendid they look.
We sit and listen to the peace and quiet, the birds chirping and the seals playing in the water before we eventually and reluctantly start our way back after 25 or 30 minutes of watching nature at its best.
Now, as we zoom across Pegwell Bay again towards Ramsgate, Stuart asks if we would like a little bit of fun, which we all agreed and before we knew it, we were doing fantastic turns that only this boat can do and enjoying the sea spray in our faces... then off home to Ramsgate to complete the experience.
This really was a first-class trip, one to go on, recommend 100%, we are now booking a second trip later in the summer, just to have some fun.

We went out Ramsgate on a seal watching trip with Stuart and his team, the boat was excellent, just right for the task and we had every confidence in them due to their professionalism. Stuart’s knowledge of the area was great and it gave us a real insight into the history of this part of the country. As for the seals – wow wow wow - it really did tick all the boxes. The seals well-being was of the utmost importance to the crew crew which was really very refreshing. The time past so quickly, it was a real testament to the total enjoyment we all had in watching one of natures delightful wonders in their own environment – its a must do trip and we will most certainly be doing this on a regular basis ! Thank you Stuart

We were looking forward to this trip anyway but it far exceeded our expectations! As soon as we stepped off the boat we wanted to do it again!
My children (8 & 13) loved it - we all got soaked and laughed a lot. Seeing the seals and birds was special, watching them watching us - we saw many. We also learned something of the history of the area which was fascinating. Experiencing what the boat can do in the way back was brilliant - better than any theme park ride.
He is a knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide who takes your safety and enjoyment seriously.
I think I could do the trip daily and never get bored! We will definitely do it again and I can’t wait!

Outstanding seal safari trip today.
We had the most amazing time seeing the seals in their natural environment accompanied by a very informative and entertaining commentary about the seals and the local area. The ride in Arctic Storm was awesome especially the high speed turns in the open clear waters of Pegwell Bay. So much fun!!
Will definitely be back to try one of the other trips.
Many thanks

I can’t recommend this more! We booked last minute with Stuart (who responded by text) and turned up the next day for the 11.20am trip. £100 for 2 adults and an U14. Stuart provided all the safety equipment and an extra waterproof coat because I left mine behind. His boat is ex-special forces so virtually unsinkable and indeed it felt very sturdy and sea worthy! We enjoyed seeing the seals and birds and Stuart’s commentary was informative and funny. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

I went with my partner and 5 year old son on an amazing trip out to see the seals. The guide was very knowledgeable and funny and finished off the trip with some high speed manoeuvres. My son said it was the best boat trip ever! Would definitely recommend.

Stuart gave us a trip to remember! We took our 11 year old son and his pals on the seal tour for a birthday treat. Stuart kept us entertained, informed and feeling very safe during this brilliant trip. He put the boat through it’s paces on our return journey, much to the delight of all of us. Highly recommend, we had a brilliant time.

Brilliant trip. Sea was really rough and I’m usually terrified but the skipper was great. I felt really safe, we got soaked which was hysterical. The seals were fabulous to see. Skipper really knowledgeable.
I will go again but be prepared for a soaking!

Fabulous seal trip with Stuart today. A knowledgeable, friendly and charismatic guide, informing us of interesting facts along the way. Would definitely recommend this boat trip for anyone looking to do something a bit different in Thanet with family or friends.
