Rosemary Shrager's Cookery School, based in the beautiful setting of historic Royal Tunbridge Wells, offers a variety of cookery courses in top-quality surroundings. The school was started by celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager to train professional chefs and the on-site kitchen facilities and equipment are state-of-the-art. Novice and amateur cooks can join one or two-day courses on varied themes from butchery to baking, all using locally-sourced produce. The lessons are all hands-on and include demonstrations and practical cookery time. At the end of the session, sit down and enjoy a three-course lunch and a glass of wine. Alternatively head to the cookery school for a chef’s table experience which combines a demonstration by head chef Iain More with a five-course tasting menu, available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Bought one of these courses as a Christmas present for my husband last year. Says it was one of the best gifts he's ever recieved as he learnt many tips and knife skills which he has continued to use. He thoroughly enjoyed the day and I joined him and the other chefs & partners for the resulting lunch. Fantastic experience,... More

I had a fantastic day with Rosemary, Ian and Tilly cooking (and thoroughly enjoying eating!) some British Classic dishes. Thank you for such a brilliant day - I have taken away a lot of good tips and recipes and I will certainly be booking another course soon. I thoroughly recommend this course to anyone and everyone - from the novice... More

In my previous reviews, I have allready used all the superlatives possible to let fellow readers know about the fantastic, quality experiences offered by both the Cookery School and Chef's table. This visit was no exception and I was truly amazed by Executive Chef John Rogers' innovative and absolutely magical chef's table. The next day's Knife Skills course was no... More

Beware - these are popular and book up quickly. Dinners with the chef, weekends only, for 8-10 people, in a fun environment. We were treated to an 8 course meal, you can buy wine there or bring your won. Diners sit around the kitchen top, sip their wine, talk to the chef, talk to each other and learn tricks of... More

A big thank you to Rosemary and all the staff that helped make this weekend’s French and Italian Cookery course both hugely enjoyable and educational. As a reasonably experienced cook I was intrigued to see how much additional knowledge I would come away with…Well let’s just say I am still digesting it all (no pun intended) the abundance of content,... My husband took me here on my birthday for the chef's table. The menu was put together for the group based on likes and dislikes that he'd submitted previously. The chef prepared everything in front of us. It was a whole new level. Well worth it!

4 of us booked the chefs dining table for Saturday 28th March. John and Chloe were fun hosts, the food fabulous and so interesting to see how things in restaurants are created. We are certainly going to invest in a thermo whip and would recommend the experience to anyone, well worth the money. Thank you.

I had a fantastic time and I am saving up to go again even though we had a five hour journey to get here. Staff were very helpful. A interesting and informative course with food and wine. I've just taken part in the two day course 'Absoluletly Foolproof British Classics'. It needed to be 'foolproof' as really I am no masterchef, but there was real support and clear explanation given throughout as well as a great good-humoured vibe. We had a full briefing with Rosemary at the beginning and a course booklet complete with all recipes to... More
