The Bedford has gone from strength-to-strength since re-launching itself back in March 2013. It is recognised as one of the top traditional ale pubs in Kent and features microbrewery beers from over 30 different breweries across Kent, Sussex, Surrey & London. We can boast 11 real ales and three or four local ciders at any one time, with regular ‘out-of-area’ beers coming in. There is always something on the bar for the serious ale drinker. All our beers are Cask Marque approved and regularly score 100%. The Bedford is also renowned for it's live music events. We usually have a band playing every Saturday evening and on the last Sunday evening of the month. Along with this and other one-off nights, you can be assured that there will always something happening in our funky and quirky bar!

Popped in on a Tuesday night. Decent beer, but lousy atmosphere. The one woman serving was OK, but the 2 friends behind the bar with her were only interested in cranking up the music to an unpleasant level and putting on their favourite songs. Oh,...More

I've been here a few times. I found it a great easy going pub with a good choice of beers. While popular, I have never had to wait too long to get served.

It's a proper pub, next to the station (with live departure boards!). A big selection of well-kept real ales / craft beers, plenty of room inside and a few tables outside. Sometimes grumpy service, but that's all part of it! Occasional live music too.

Great staff and choice of local beers. I use this pub quite often and would recommend it to anyone. Try and go there when they have live music very entertaining

A very nice traditional pub with a great range of beers and good service. You usually expect pubs right next to a train station to just go through the motions, but this place makes an effort and feels homely. It is a little pricey, but...More
