Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The jewel in Hulls crown this square contains so much history and so many amazing buildings. Stop and look up to appreciate the architecture and then enjoy a visit in all the free museums and galleries in the square. I really think this square deserves a visit.

A nice area. Particularly nice during Summer days when the kids are playing in the fountain and people are sitting around and enjoying life. Nice to visit when going to Hull Maritime Museum and Queen's Gardens.

In the centre of Hull, and located near the train and bus station. Lots of shopping in the area. City Hall and the Maritime Museum are also located in the area as well.

Been here many times. Has changed a lot over the years . In the centre of Hull so handy for the shops. Gorgeous fountain and lovely grassed areas for picnics in the summer. Many events going on ,including the 10 km run and all ends up in the queens garden.

This regal square celebrates Queen Victoria with a suitably pompous statue yet in the last decade of her reign in the 1890s was still a warren of slum houses, narrow back alleys, declining businesses, smoke and grime. A Lowry landscape before his time. Not before 1900 did was then known as the Junction scheme start to come to fruition with the clearance of a vast area which was to become Queen Victoria Square and three years later in 1903 the laying of the foundation stone of what was to become City Hall completed in 1909. Two years late in 1911 a huge organ was installed in its rear. City Hall stands opposite the only Victorian building to survive the Dock Office which today houses the Hull Maritime Museum. However the most impressive collections are to be found in the Ferens Art Gallery occupying another corner of the square. Opened in 1927 it was the munificent gift of Hull’s former mayor Thomas Ferens. The huge Queen Victoria monument at the square’s centre was designed by architect J.S. Gibson and sculptor H.C. February and unveiled in 1903 by the Prince of Wakes, the future King George V. Perhaps its most unique feature today are the fountains that were installed as part of Hull’s year as U.K. City of Culture in 2017 which delight children by suddenly spurting water and delight children and adults alike when sculpting great coloured shards of water at night.
