Down-at-heel docks transformed

On a sunny day nothing is more pleasant than a stroll round the original and relaid pavements of the old dock area, that sets off a view of the city.

Nice and cool place for walking and taking a breath. Cafes and restaurants are nearby. Car park available free for two hours. And there is private car park as well.

I was pleasantly surprised here. There was lots to see and others were also taking advantage of the good weather to have a stroll around. There are lots of boats posh ones and not so posh and loads of places to eat. This would appear to be the in place to be seen in Hull at present.

Fascinating area and even on a chilly February day a nice area for a stroll. Some interesting remnants of sea-faring past, such as the engine in display case and the Spurn Lightship which guided vessels up the Humber for half a century. The adjacent Fruit Market will probably be buzzing in summer. A little disappointing to see many shop fronts... More

Hull marina is yet another of Hull best kept secrets. Everyone in the city knows about it but for some reason visitors always seem surprised that Hull has a collection of luxury boats moored in the city centre! Well recommended for a Sunday stroll and the River Humber is a two minute stroll away and offers lovely panoramic views of... More

Historic WW2 guns/working lock and some improving restaurants in nearby fruit market. tip park at prices quay crossing A63 painful but they are soon building a bridge. 50% of Titanic passengers come through Humber Quays in the... Having been going to the city for many years we have watched the development of the marina with interest. Now it has really taken off. The area has a great vibrant atmosphere with businesses restaurants and venues springing up. Take some to soak it up, it's wonderful.

Your first port of call when you visit the Hull Marina must be the Spern Light Ship moored at the end of the marina, just think upto 4 persons would be aboard this small light ship at one time, anchored out in the channel to protect shipping from the dangerous North sea Humber sand banks. With all sizes of pleasure... More
