Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic walking tour around the city with Paul. A very interesting and well pitched walk around the new and old parts of the city. Paul is very knowledgable of the city past and present and I recommend looking him up when in the area. We even got to sample some good ales during the walk.

Had a great experience walking around Old Town with Paul. I was the only person, yet the show went on. Extreme informative and well spoke. I felt I could ask a question or point at anything and Paul could inform me on what it was. Would highly recommend the experience. And for a 5er, which is some of the best value for money tours you could do in Europe.

A great way to orientate yourself with the places and history of the great city of Hull.
So much to discover here, and Paul infects you with his enthusiasm so that you'll want to revisit and find out more. A perfect route and duration at a comfortable unhurried pace. Worth double the fee !

Spent a delightful hour and a bit with Paul on a Saturday afternoon, with him showing us round his home town of Hull. My partner and I felt incredibly fortunate because we happened to be the only two people on the tour that day (which basically meant we got a personal tour - that Paul tailored to the time we had but it was no less interesting for that). Paul is a lovely and affable guy, who is very knowledgable and deeply loves his city...and he knows literally everyone you walk by or meet. We would have really appreciated more time with him, as it felt like he had only just started to show us around. Would highly recommend this walking tour, and feel it is an absolute must if you are visiting Hull.

We needed something to keep us out of the pub so decided to join Paul for his Old Town tour. Absolutely brilliant! Excellent value for money and extremely interesting. Paul was very knowledgable and we would recommend you join one of his tours.

Excellent walking tour of Hull with Paul. Only the 2 of us - but Paul still did the tour, taking you on a good circuit of Hull from the centre, around the old town and down to the waterside.
Really informative and and excellent way to get an understanding of Hull.

We chose this walking tour of Old Town Hull as a great way to enjoy a visit with family after all the Christmas festivities. Paul took us on a relaxed 2 hour tour of the Old Town and Pubs, starting at the pier and finishing at Whitefriargate by the old city walls. He was very interesting sharing facts about Hull's history and showing new aspects about the area eg. the photos of noteworthy Hull people in the covered market. Would recommend this as a tour if you want to learn more about Old Town Hull. It is very reasonably priced.

Paul's tour of Hull Old Town provided a fascinating glimpse in the past present and future of Hull. Paul, who seems to know everybody in Hull is very knowledgeable about every aspect of the city as only a dedicated local can be. I learnt a great deal of the history of the town and it's aspirations for the future. I came away with a very positive view of the city and look forward to returning again soon. Oh yes and as walking tours go this was fantastic value.

We went on the walking tour of Hull's old town on a Saturday in August. I was brought up in the area but moved away several years ago.
Paul was a brilliant tour guide he took us all round the old town to places I had never seen before and told us stories about the history of hull and ther characters that lived there that I had never heard before - it was great fun and really interesting.
We took the tour by meeting at the tourist information centre in central Hull. His website tells you where and when to meet up. Ther tour cost only £3 per person and lasted between 2 and 3 hours - you can't get better value than that. There were about 15 people on our walk from a to small child in a pushchair, teenagers, adults and everyone had a good time.
Paul also does other tours including one of Beverly - next time we have a spare weekend We will be trying that one out.

For a walking tour of old Hull, Paul is your man. An excellent tour taking in most of the places of interest at a leisurely pace and with a very knowledgeable person. Why work out your own way round when Paul does it for you and provide lots of information and answer your questions at the same time?
We were in Hull for the day and this walking tour was very useful. We had an excellent tour of old Hull which lasted about 2 hours. The tour took in the area bounded by (1) the River Hull, museums and new barrage to the east, (2) the Humber, old ferry landing stage and marina (to the south) and (3) the inner dock system and Maritime Museum (to the west and north).
