The road is narrow and can be challenging but the journey is worth it. I personally also prefer winter as in summer traffic can be horrendous. The waterfalls and the walks are amazing and there are a few parking places dotted around.

A really good driving experience especially in the winter, conditions allowing. Almost no one there in winter which adds greatly to the drive and the remoteness of this great place.

Wrynose is a good short cut but frightening. Some speed drivers try it and have perished. It's full of hair pin bends and narrow passing areas. We have done it twice but go slow Nd think carefully if you have a big car.

A damn good part of the mountain pass, care is needed and the driver has to keep his eyes on the pass and not the scenery, stop if you wish to admire the fantastic views. There are a couple of places you can park up...More

I have driven the Wrynose Pass on several occasions, the most recent in July 2018. It encompasses beautiful scenery and, when you continue into the Hardnott Pass with equally beautiful scenery, you find a Roman Fort with very informative story boards. If you enjoy challenging...More

Stunning views, trickling streams, acres upon acres of wildlife. Just serene! Beware those crafty hills - ups and downs, u-bends and drops! Gives your stomach muscles a workout for sure from clenching! Worth a pass across even if it’s justt the once!

Spending a day in the Lakes we decided to take the scenic route through Eskdale crossing Wrynose and Hard Knott Passes. What a drive! Not for the faint hearted and fingers crossed for no on-coming traffic. Probably better for walkers than motorists, but it was...More

If you are in the area and like to drive then do this. The experience is well worth it and the views are outstanding. It is as noted a single track with some passing places, so you will need to be patient as there is...More

If your heading East to West this is a good introduction for what is to come, if you make it ok you should be able to cope with the Hardknott Pass, if you've struggled just turn round and head back. If you are travelling West...More

Hi. From where you are I don't know because I came from Milton Keynes. The nearest village we saw was Ambleside and I hope this helps. It's beautiful.
