Established in 1994, the Old Courthouse Gallery, Ambleside has become one of the leading independent contemporary arts galleries in the North of England. Occupying three floors within an historic building, the bright and welcoming gallery showcases the best arts and crafts in the Lakes and in Britain today. A range of media are featured in the gallery including wall art, wood/furniture, glass, ceramics, metalwork and jewellery, ensuring a deep and high quality range of pieces for the serious collector or the person looking for the ideal gift or memento.

A wide range of unique artwork , glass, pottery, jewellery, portraiture and much more. Celebrating mainly British and European artists. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff who discreetly offer advice! Well worth a visit.

A 'must see' for anyone visiting Ambleside - eclectic, traditional, contemporary, you name it, they seem to have it, and (important to me) friendly staff.

Visited this fabulous gallery while on holida, as well as many others. However this one is outstanding, offering both great quality work in many mediums and had knowledgable friendly staff were happy to speak to me. I could have bought several pieces but in the end made my choice of a beautiful bronze sculpture. Today it is unpacked and sitting in it's new home in my own studio. I will be back for more when I have saved up again.

This is a beautiful gallery, spacious and airy.
The staff were so helpful when we went inside informative and knowledgeable. We bought a beautiful bespoke vase which was more than reasonably priced, the vase just what we wanted. The gallery is a joy to have a wander around, with stunning pieces ...really spolit for choice! We will be back as spotted some beautiful things, such a nice atmosphere too, very relaxing.

This is a lovely gallery in the heart of Ambleside. It has a large variation of media with glass, wood acrylic and many others. The prices are varied with items to suit most budgets.
