this is William's family home which he loved growing up there it has lovely gardens and a room where children can dress up and play with wooden toys it has a very nice tea room to enjoy cake and tea.

Even though I live relatively close to this attraction this was our first visit. It wasn't planned but when we had friends for the weekend this place sprang to mind. Very enjoyable with staff dressed in period dress which makes a difference. The gardens alone...More

Visited in April, Wordsworth House was a wonderful place! the guides was on hand to answer questions, the decor in the rooms were pristine and the garden at the back of the house!!!! There were lots of flowers, herbs and trees, all labelled in pieces...More

Very pleasant little house with experienced helpers around the house. Nice little garden at rea of house. Pleasant little cafe for a quick lunch.

I would say an hour should do it but Cockermouth is an interesting town and you may be also like to visit J B Banks an ironmongers with lots of there old stock laid out like a museum see trip advisor for other people's views

Wordsworth House is open Saturday to Thursday, 11am to 5pm (last entry at 4pm). We are generally closed on Fridays. The café and visitor welcome are open from 10.30am until 5pm (last orders in the café at 4.30pm).
Could anybody tell me if dogs are allowed to this attraction? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, dogs (other than the assistance variety) visiting Wordsworth House can’t join their human companions indoors, because of the precious objects, or in the back garden, as we use some of the produce in our café... More
