Well organised and great fun

Could not rate this experience more highly - booking was easy and communication was regular and helpful. We arrived with easy directions and private parking. Our instructor was Johan and right from the wriggling into wetsuits we laughed! The 'learning how to kayak' activities were done as a game which made it all the more fun. Hot chocolate on the island in the lake was delicious! The whole experience was fun, well managed, safe and just challenging enough. We will be back!

Ice cold fun

We loved every bit of it, our guide Tom was excellent. The kids loved every second of the gorge walk. The equipment was great we loved it and will book another activity with RIVERDEEP MOUNTAINHIGH when we go back to the lakes in the future.

Family adventure and fun!

We always book at least one activity with RDMH during our annual visit to the Lake District. This year did not disappoint. We spent a morning kayaking with Johan on Coniston. New covid regs meant that it was just our family group and we were able to enjoy a bespoke outing, going on a windy adventure.
It was loads of fun and we can't wait for next year!
Johan is an excellent guide, who is able to put even the most nervous participant at ease, as well asbeing kind and encouraging to people of all ages.
Definitely recommend!

Family Adventures

We went gorge walking and abseiling with RDMH and had 2 fantastic days. Our family were trying something very new and we were out of our comfort zones, especially with the abseiling. Our instructor, Tom, very quickly put as at our ease and matched the level of challenge to what we were able to achieve. Thank you for 2 great days!

Family Canoeing on Coniston (Swallows & Amazons style)

We had kayaked but not canoed before. Brilliant way to learn, enjoy the water and explore as a family. The Swallows & Amazons angle (landing on Wild Cat Island) was great fun for our 10 year old son (and us!). The instructor was so generous with his time. Thanks for a great afternoon!

Family gorge walk.

Fantastic experience. Ages ranged from 6 to 50, with a huge variation in confidence! Our guide was brilliant, encouraging the nervous, and reining in the exuberant teens! Beautiful unspoilt location. Loved the pop up changing rooms.

All of it. We did the raft building and gorge working. Amazing from start from finish. The best outdoor event we have done. Would highly recommend.

Gorge walking activity with family

Gorge walking activity was perfect for our family. Boys aged 10 and 12 were challenged and loved it. Stunning scenery and we all felt in safe hands. Excellent, would do it again.

Perfect family activity away from the tourist crowds

What a fabulous day Gorge Walking. Tom adjusted the climbing to the varying needs of the group. We all felt we had acheived something great and the day bought us together as a family.
