Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a lovely kayaking experience with Adam. I highly recommend Joint Adventures if you ever go to Lake District and fancy doing outdoor sports. Adam is very knowledgeable and he made our kayaking session really fun.

Brilliant afternoon Gorge Scrambling up the waterfalls in Coniston! Adam was the perfect guide, very knowledgeable and we felt safe at all times. If you’re looking for a bit of adventure or to push your limits while visiting the lakes, this won’t disappoint!

We visited the lake district as a group of friends and were after something a little different. We decided on raft building and Adam was helpful from the start. Booking and payment was easy via email and direct online links. On the day we were welcomed, the activity explained and then the right amount of help/autonomy allowed to create the perfect afternoon. Dry wetsuits and sizes to fit all shapes and generally good quality kit. Needless to say we built the best raft in the history of raft-making and enjoyed a number of on-the - water games led by Adam. All in all a superb afternoon out and at a very reasonable cost. Thank you!

So pleased that you all enjoyed the raft building session and very well done to you all on the raft challenges. We always try to make the booking process as easy as possible but think that it's important to communicate with the group to make sure we run the right session for them.
The correct equipment can also make a big difference to any session so we always take time to get this right as well. Wishing all of you many more happy birthdays.

The weather hadn't been great so Adam was completely honest and said we can book you in but we might have to be flexible. We got lucky and Adam took myself and Oliver out on the lake. We started in a lovely mist and it cleared for a sunny day. We learnt a lot about the lake history weather and a whole lot more. we got great tips on strokes, and then we had a lesson on knife craft and fire starting in the damp.
Oliver insisted on getting a swedish fire steel the minute we got home and has been practising in the garden.
We both enjoyed Adams knowledge and as good as his word followed up with great pics.

Thanks for taking time to review your activity with us. It's always a pleasure to know when people have had a good time with us. We run activities all year around but in the cooler months going into Autumn it's important to have some flexibility with what we do on our adventure but we always make sure that it's fun. Having the right equipment and clothing is all part of the game.

We went gorge walking with Adam and had the best time. He hit just the right tone with the kids (age 7 and 9) and challenged them gently to complete the harder and higher climbs and jumps. Our whole family grinned from beginning to end.
Equipment all provided. All we had to do was turn up and have fun. Highly recommend.

Glad that you all enjoyed your gorge scramble with us. Thanks for your review and kind comments. Remembering that it's about having fun whilst providing the right level of challenge for individuals is important to us and helps everyone have a really good time even if they start off a little nervous.

We had a fantastic day of canoeing, gorge walking and a little bit of bush craft. Our instructor Stuart was excellent, really friendly, professional and encouraging. He challenged us to achieve more than we believed we could whilst always making sure we were safe and having a brilliant time. We'll definitely book again next time we visit the Lake District.

Such great trips. We did kayaking one day and gorge adventure the next. Gorge was rated best day of the holiday by both kids and me and my better half rated the kayaking as his. Fun, safe, exciting. We were well looked after and although we were given clear instructions the supervision wasn’t oppressive. All the activities were tailored to suit us all, we all want to go and do it all again.

Thanks for taking time to review your activities with us and I'm really pleased that you all enjoyed them. We tend to have a pretty relaxed approach to managing most groups whilst keeping them safe but maximising the fun. Making sure people feel comfortable and safe is a big part of making sure groups want to come back.

Great afternoon with Adam. He has amazing local, historical and geological knowledge and reassuringly knew pretty much every inch of our gorge scramble course. We were all challenged, all a bit nervous in places, but we all left with a huge sense of achievement. Great event for the teens who were treated like adults and given lots of opportunity to use their judgement and push themselves. Thanks for the photo’s too Adam!

Hi George. Thanks for taking time to review your gorge scramble with us. Really pleased that you all enjoyed the session.
It's always good to watch people as they grow in confidence on their journey up the gorge. It's important to make sure that, everyone who wants to be, is challenged a bit without going overboard and feels that the activity is fun.

We have done a number of activities over the years with Adam at Joint Adventures. We've always had a lot of fun, doing challenging things like gorge walking but have always been in safe hands. Id really recommend gorge walking, perfect for any weather with all kit provided and perfectly safe and socially distant.

I organised kayaking as a stag activity which was simple to do thanks to a clear, informative website. Arrived and was recommended we do something else due to the strong winds and none of us having kayaking experience. Chose to go ahead and try it anyway, within an hour, we were gorge scrambling instead which was absolutely brilliant fun.
Adam was incredibly patient, helpful and fun, which was exactly what 8 hungover stags needed! If, like me, you see gorge scrambling and think you'd hate it, give it a go as it truly is a wonderful experience, especially with a fantastic instructor as we had! Cannot recommend highly enough.

Thanks for taking time to review your session with us and I am glad that you found our website clear.
We don't really change many kayaking sessions but on rare occasions it's the right thing to do. However, I think the quick blast we did have in kayaks was worth doing just to see how windy it was! It was windy, so going in the gorge was a good option. I'm pleased that you thought it was fun. It is the best cure for a hanger over we know.

What age would you recommend as the best age for children to do the 'wild cat island adventure'?
Thanks :)
Written 28 August 2016
most children are aged between 7 and 13 but it does depend on the child and what sort of things the family are use to doing. The time of year is also a factor. We have also take 5 year olds and 70 year olds but not often.

Hi, I was wondering if someone could tell me the different options available on the 'Wild Cat Island' trip. What are the activities and where are you able to go?
Thanks, help is appreciated :)
Written 23 August 2016
We went in canoes to the island going first to the creek, the island is quite small, we put up temporary tents and were shown key places. On the way back the more daring jumped in, we were all offered wet suits. Very good fun for a family trip.
