Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had an amazing time with Dan canoeing on Ulswater, a glorious calm and sunny day in September. Dan was an expert guide and wonderful company. As I'm a keen open water swimmer he also suggsted some good spots for a dip duirng the trip. Highly recommend booking an adventure with into the outside.

A group of my friends had a scramble up a Ghyll near Conniston, where we all have varying levels of aquatic and clambering ability. It was a load of fun and Dan was a huge laugh and help throughout the whole experience. Nothing was outside our ability and it felt safe. Definitely recommended, Dan was able to provide us lots of local knowledge for nearby activities too.

I'd really recommend booking with Into The Outside. We (a group of 7 friends) were up in the Lake District for a reunion and we booked onto the Ghyll Scrambling.
We turned up in the morning not really knowing what to expect but Dan quickly explained everything, got us all geared up and into the ghyll. It was a super fun activity and everyone in our group had an incredible time.
Dan provided us with many fun challenges to do within the Ghyll as well as sharing his knowledge of the history of the area and the Lake District in general which was a lovely touch.

This is the 4th time I have used Dan and Beckie from Into The Outside. Twice with my partner, once with a work group and once with my extended family. Each time has been brilliant. Previously it has been kayaking trips. Today I have just finished the Canoe Island and wild camping trip with my fiancé. We have had an absolutely fantastic time. We started at 6pm and canoed to the island, set up camp and then had a fantastic meal. It was nachos (guac & sour cream) chilli (we asked for veggie) and jacket potatoes prepared by Dan / Beckie, with wine, beers and chocolate. We slept in hammocks, woke up to fresh coffee (good coffee too!) and breakfast and went for a wild swim in the morning before heading back. Dan made the trip enjoyable and educational. Despite the weather being against us, we had a brilliant experience. We have been to the Lake District many many times and visited most places but each time I see him Dan always has another recommendation or two, which always deliver. I will continue to recommend Into The Outside for outward bound activities due to the balance of organisation and fun. Everyone in my group has always had a great time and felt at ease - regardless of their ability or experience of a task. Thanks - see you next year!

We spent two amazing days with Becki - one canoeing and one wild water swimming. Becki was great with the kids and managed to challenge us all equally. She was also really knowledgeable about local area, giving us ideas on where best to take the family. Cannot thank her enough for a fantastic experience and 100% recommend her and Dan. Fingers crossed for ghyl scrambling next time we are in the Lakes 😉

We were a family group ranging from 25 to 60. Dan was amazing, he was so patient and calm and settled any nerves. He didn't even mind that we took 2 small dogs with us. He made us laugh and added in other activities like cliff jumping (optional) and swimming

My husband and I had a fantastic day out Ghyll scrambling and kayaking in Coniston.
Dan was a great guide with lots of knowledge and experience. He gave us lots of confidence whilst scrambling and lots of patience whilst kayaking.
The whole day was great fun and a new experience for both of us. We can't wait to get back to the lakes and try out some more experiences

Great afternoon out - Our leader, Sam, was friendly and professional. The scrambling and jumps were enough to make us feel challenged and pushed without feeling too scary to enjoy. We were well equipped and felt safe and in good hands. Our boys (11 &13) said it was "Excellent"!!
