We spent a wonderful day with Into the Outside in Lake District. Although the weather wasn’t perfect (it was quite windy and cold), Becki turned it into a fantastic adventure that we remember forever. Everything was prepared perfectly – the ride from our place to the spot where we started the trek, adjusting a difficulty level of our trip to our capabilities (we were rather amateur hikers) and also Becki took care of the wonderful ending of our trip with coffee and cake in a nearby lovely café. We’re definitely coming back in a summer for more adventures with Into the Outside!

We loved sharing the mountains with you today and keeping the level manageable but still challenging. And there is always time for coffee and cake!! See you again soon.

We had a fantastic day on the lakes with Becki. All kit was provided and we were given a very clear and concise briefing to help us navigate the canoes. Becki was enthusiastic and encouraging even when we went round in circles at the start. She led us in a game (that I must admit I was dreading) but was really good fun and saw the adults beat the teens. Becki pitched the day perfectly to accommodate our different skill levels & was good company. I always felt safe and in control despite my lack of experience & its made me keen to try other new activities. We laughed a lot that day and even saw our teenagers smiling- worth every penny just for that 😊
I would definitely recommend these guys and will be back again for more adventures next year.

On a recent trip to the Lake District we were surprised with the awesome weather and decided to make the most of it with a micro adventure canoe trip.

Becki and Dan gave us easy directions as to where to meet them to park and make the short walk down to the edge of Bassenthwaite Lake.

Our toddler had a picnic lunch with a view while Becki and Dan got the two canoes and kit ready. They provided buoyancy vests for me, my husband and our two year old. Our spaniel was also welcome on board!

We had a relaxed paddle over to an island where we got out to go exploring and found snails, feathers and other natural treasurers. The bigs went for a swim and the littles had a splash in the shallows. Then we got back into the canoes to take the scenic route back to see some wildlife and the cows grazing by the water’s edge.

We had a fabulous time and our little boy absolutely loved it and was amazed by the whole trip. We wouldn’t hesitate to go on another adventure with Becki and Dan

Thank you so much Into the Outside!

We had a wonderful family weekend with Becky and Dan. It began with canoeing across Derwentwater to an island, cooking a tasty dinner and melting s’mores on an open fire before settling down in hammocks for a night under the stars (joined by their adorable Labrador Pan whom our kids loved). The following day the whole family were guided through a ghyll scrambling adventure in crystal clear (and bracingly cold!) waters running down the hillside in an amazing setting.

From the beginning we always felt that we were in the hands of genuine experts, both Becky and Dan having years of experience and training and a trove of all the right kit (two wet suits each being most welcome in that cold water and Nan’s hot water bottle ideal for our kids cosying up in the hammocks!).

Above all the reason we loved our weekend and why we can’t wait to go back is the way Becky and Dan were with our kids and the trust and warmth that engendered, apparent in our five year old putting his faith in Dan to guide him down a steep part of the ghyll he was so proud to conquer, or holding Becky’s hand walking back down the hill as if they were old friends. That was pretty much how we all felt by the time we piled, exhausted, back into our car to go home, grateful for a perfect weekend and some priceless memories. Thanks guys!! Booked this wonderful canoeing experience with Becky and Dan. We was entertained all the way through. It was funny informative and you get the experience the lake in a different presepective. I have never done this before so I didn't mentally and physically prepare myself but I would 100% do it again. It definitely worked my arms. The weather was beautiful and Dan gave us some wonderful stories about the area and he definitely had great knowledge of his surraounding and the history behind it.. even when doing this experience I felt as ease and not at all nervous. Guided me how to paddle along so I got the hang of it. I wasn't as fast but I got the hang of things by the end of the experience. Thanks for becki and Dan. Wonderful people.

We had a fabulous adventure with Becki and our 4 young children climbing Catbells, paddling in Derwent water and ghyll scrambling. Becki was fantastic and knew all of the other surrounding mountains. She was brilliant at encouraging our your children to keep climbing even when they felt they could go no further. Ghyll scrambling is always a favourite and we had an even bigger adventure after all the rain. Thank you for a fabulous day.

We were a family group of 4 spanning the generations from Grandson to Grandad. Expertly led by Becki this was a really exciting walk/climb that had everything - splendid views, varied walks, challenging climbs and a swim in a secluded waterfall pool.

I (Grandad) have been up Helvellyn on 4 previous occasions but always wimped off of striding edge - preferring the easier, lower route!

This time Becki enabled me to be successful by using her skill and experience to help me overcome my fear. I was able, under her guidance to actually 'do' Striding Edge'... An achievement for me and a most enjoyable day for us all that will be remembered for all time.

We had a fantastic time Ghyll Scrambling with Becki!
After I booked my youngest (age 5) said he didn’t want to do it but Becki reassured that he would have a great time and if he didn’t want to go under water that he would be caught. He had a brilliant time!!! Becki is great fun we had lots of giggles and the water was amazing it was better than a spa.
Can’t wait to join you on another adventure when we visit the lakes again.

Dan and Becki are beyond brilliant :) I would HIGHLY recommend doing any outdoor activities with them :D They make such a great team it's so energising to see. Very informative and friendly. Having been on a few adventures over the years with them, I took my partner and our dog this time and pooch himself had the best time!
Everything was well organised and planned so smoothly and both Becki and Dan have fantastic bubbly personalities. They even let us borrow gear that we forgot to bring on some days which we were super grateful for. Both so easy-going and a mine of information which made it both fun and educational, especially learning about the surroundings!
Dan had us in stitches laughing and Becki always a great natter, we didn't stop talking. Felt like I'd known them for years.
We did a few exhilarating activities such as hiking to top of Skiddaw where we had the most incredible views. We even went a different way down and could see the planning in making this a unique experience for us. As someone personally who doesn't do a lot of hiking, they spurred me on and it was most definitely worth it!! We were in a group with another lovely couple, so was awesome to meet like minded people. Turns out they had been on trips with Dan and Becki before too :) Sunshine throughout the day and snowy at the top, was quite the contrast! Followed by the next day Canoeing on Derwent water where we had a spot of lunch on the other side of the lake. They were both great with taking pictures too which is really appreciated, so got all of the best moments to look back on. Final day we went Ghyll Scrambling, so many laughs and what an experience. Their enthusiasm is second to none. You can tell they truly love what they do.
The adventure didn't stop there as they advised us of the best places to eat and drink which is very helpful for insider knowledge...and I have to say they didn't let us down. We came away wanting more!! Absolutely will be making further trips and already have planned to meet them again for more adventures in summer. Cannot wait :) Massive THANKS to you both guys. Great team and more than great job :D

Dan and Beckie are great hosts that take care of all the details plus add thoughtful touches to your trip so you can get the most out of your experience. We did their overnight canoe trip to an island with our three year old and 18 month old. Everyone had a smashing time! The scenic paddle out, hot camp style meals, rustic setting, wild swim (if you fancy), and great company made a trip that was memorable and highly recommendable for all! Even if you’re hesitant to take little ones out, you will be well taken care of and your kids will have a fun and safe time joining in on all the activities.
Get outside and into the wild!
