Popped in on a rainy day, great value for £2 per person. Spent about 1 hour in the museum, some interesting natural history exhibits.

Really interesting little museum, full of local memorabilia. It is well set out and informative. Great section on local photographer who recorded Lakeland history in the early part of 20th century. Enough to keep children occupied and adults interested.

Exhibits were dark and dingy, cluttered and no flow at all to the museum. It is in a time warp where museums were 30 plus years ago. I have scored it poor and not terrible because of the friendly member of staff who greeted us. The museum is dire over-stuffed with a range of disjointed artefacts of not much rarity... More

We visit here on our second last day of our holiday. Was fantastic and wish we could have stayed longer. Great collection got q fairly small museum and my three children appeared to really enjoy the torch light tour. Well with the visit.

The museum, although small is excellent value for money. Myself and my partner visited in July, and completely loved it. The taxidermy collection is fantastic, showcasing animals from all over the world. The Beatrix Potter exhibition that was on when we visited was not quite up to what we expected, but the stuffed animals made up for it 100%.

It is worth £2 to call in at the museum and have a browse around. There are different sections to the museum with a taxidermy section, a large collection of minerals, information about Wainwright, and also a lot of information about Kendal and the Lakeland area including a Viking boat. Also, lots of items to view as well.

A delight with some revealing history from the full range of the Cumbrian area encompassing the period from prehistory and Roman times to Victorian industrialisation to more contemporary displays showing the impact of time to Kendal and the Lake District.

Really enjoyed the museum. It was by chance that we found it when passing and decided to have a look in - so pleased we did. Really interesting and informative! Would recommend!
