Well worth the house tour as well as the wonderful walks around the castle, which is still home to the family for centuries. Lots of individual events going on too, pop in your diary for the Spring. A National Trust property, and recently refurbished.

We paid to see the house and gardens (£8.50 per adult, July 2011), which seemed a bit steep since we spent only an hour and a bit there. However, I'm sure most people would consider the price reasonable and you could spend a lot longer...More

Looked an impressive castle on the website but in reality seems only dinky or appears so. As we missed the guided tour, we had to wait an extra hour for entry into the house at 2pm. When able to enter the building there were way...More

Went for a day out over Easter 2010 here and it was lovely. The castle itself is amazing and is just wonderful to look around (admittedly, due to the curved staircase I did not see the best rooms on the top floor, though the rest...More
