We arrived early to avoid the rush! Very investing National Trust property. Take your time to wander around the castle, then enjoy the gardens and extended grounds. Entry is free if you are a NT member, otherwise it costs £11.50 for the house and gardens...More

We visited on a wet Friday in September and the castle was very busy. We enjoyed the tour of the house and the chapel which was only open that day. The gardens were interesting , a lovely place to walk around.

We visited on a cool wet day but it was fun to see the gardens. We didn’t go into the house. We had a nice lunch and visited the shop and the second hand book shop. NT always great for a not so good day.

The gardens were excellent and the walks available from and around the property were also excellent. The castle itself was really disappointing, the minimal number of rooms that you were allowed in all seemed the same but with different furniture i.e a bed or a...More

Had a great visit. Only problem is that the web site is wrong about signing in early for the house guided tour. One needs to arrive at least 45 - 60 minutes before the tour starts in order to get a place. That said, we...More
