Badger Adventures' 16-day Coast to Coast Guided Trek was the most carefree vacation I've ever had. My daily to-do list was short: 1-Walk, 2-Eat, and 3-Sleep. Badger Adventures took care of everything else, and it was flawless. I had not expected full-time logistics support as backup to our excellent walking guide, but Badger -- often Chief Badger Ritchie Evans himself -- made sure that every detail was taken care of, sometimes going above and beyond to attend to individual needs.
I had selected Badger Adventures after extensive research; their 16-day guided Coast to Coast was the only one I could find that didn't have at least one 20-mile day, and the only one that included all meals. Having spent very little beyond the package cost, I am confident that Badger Adventures' trip was excellent value compared to similar trips. The group size was ideal (there were 7 of us; max is 8), and as a solo traveler, I especially enjoyed the camaraderie, both on the trail and after hours.
On the trail, guide Paul was knowledgeable and fun. The Coast to Coast is not well signposted, but with a guide, we were free to just enjoy the walk and the scenery. We encountered some very wet weather, especially in the first days, and Paul got us safely across streams and through bogs. When high water made the official route virtually impassable, the Badger team smoothly arranged a detour (which was spectacularly beautiful - see photo).
The lodging was wonderfully varied, from centuries-old pubs to a modern spa and a farmhouse B&B; all were charming in their own way, and all promoted the sleep item on my to-do list. Most had beautiful views to boot. Several great places would not have been accessible without van support. It was a treat to be able to select from the full menu at meals, instead of the limited choices usually offered on group holidays.
I had wanted to walk the Coast to Coast since I heard about it on my first trip to England in 1990, so my hopes were high; this experience with Badger Adventures was more fun than I dared dream.

To appreciate the Coast to Coast walk, the last thing you need to be doing is interpretting maps, working out whether you are lost, and where is our accommodation for the evening. This is why Sue and I choose Badger Adventures guided walk.
It gave us the time and presence to take in the dramatic glacial scenery of the Lake District, the rolling meadows, high fells and heather moors of the Yorkshire Dales, and the solitude of the North York moors, only broken by the occasional grouse shooting.
A big thank you to Ritchie, Paul and Chris for an unforgettable adventure.

Completed the England Coast to Coast Guided Trek with Badger Adventures and it exceeded all our expectations. The trip is a challenging 16 day, 200 mile walk across three national parks including the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors. The trail is sporadically marked and traverses many private farms, so having an experienced guide was crucial to keeping us on track. The group experience enhanced our enjoyment, especially at our end of day pub dinners. Badger took care of all accommodations and baggage transfers, so we only carried day packs with water, lunch and waterproofs. The choice of lodgings was wonderful and varied, including classic rustic pubs (Keld Lodge), posh B & B's (Stonethwaite) and a marvelous home stay (Lovesome Hill Farm). We had plenty of rain, but also rainbows on this magical journey that we'll cherish for a lifetime. Cheers to Ritchie and Paul for getting us through!

I have know Ritchie (Chief Badger) for 10 years now and Badger Adventures since it started. Ritchie and the team are enthusiastic and totally professional in everything they do.
I have done Kilimanjaro (twice!) and Annapurna Base Camp with them, as well as various UK treks, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Completed the Annapurna Base Camp trek in November 2022. The service provided by Badger Adventures and their Nepalese team at Bold Adventures was second to none.
Ritchie (chief badger) has a mountain of knowledge (see what i did there) and offers a wealth of expertise and support. During the tougher days, Ritchie and Sonam kept me going, I couldn't have finished without them! Highlights included singing Bohemian Rapsody in variuos accents to keep me distracted. An amazing trip, with a truly professional, personal touch. Higgly recommended.

This is the second trip I've done with Chief Badger Ritchie. You're absolutely in really good hands with this team. The 'Bold adventures' local guides and porters were amazing too - couldn't have been more professional and inspiring.
This is a reasonably tough trek, starting from Katmandu and then 9 or so nights in the Himalayas staying in Tea Houses to reach ABC at 4,130m. The scenery along the way is breathtaking and you see the local villagers and farmers.
A trip you'll never forget, tiring but well worth it!

I walked Hadrian’s Wall self guided with Badger arranging accommodation and luggage transfer. Ritchie was very helpful in preparing for the trek and the logistics all worked well. Very enjoyable experience and I would definitely use Badger again.

What can I say? Brian is an AMAZING instructor! He is a kind, compassionate, understanding, loving, caring and true gentleman. He didn't just teach us the skills of DofE e.g. camping, trekking and hiking but taught me life lessons that will be with me forever. He is very skilled and open to giving guidance at every opportunity. He taught me of how to go and do amazing things in life. The process of signing up was straightforward and the experience was unbelievable. I want to whole heartly thank Brian, his family and Ritchie for making the Open Gold DofE expedition in Lake district an experience of a lifetime!

Fully enjoyed our trip navigating our way through beautiful English countryside on a self guided Coast to Coast trip with Badger Adventures!
All arrangements from hotel booking to bag transfers done to top standard which is particularly important after a long day of walking. All of the hotels and BnBs are carefully chosen by Chief Badger and are clean, cosy and well located.
Frith Lodge, Ivy Cottage and Ingleby House Farm were especially memorable.
Book well in advance as this trip gets very busy and fully booked fast.
This is our third trip organised by Badger Adventures and we highly recommend their services.
