We enjoyed Catbells after family recommended a climb that would not be too arduous. They were right - this is just about right for our amateur efforts at a longer walk. Parking was easy on the roads at the start of the climb. We were...More

I got walkers boat from Keswick across the lake early in the morning, climbed Catbells and returned on the boat the other end. The views from Catbells are lovely, looking back towards Keswick or the fells beyond.

It was a busy spot..a little challenging when the wind is up but enjoyable as you could rest to eat youre picnic but watch out for dogs coming up and nabbing it first .

Walked up Catbells after driving to near Hawes End. Not one of the higher hills and doesn’t take very long but you are rewarded with wonderful views on all sides. The climb is a little steep and rocky in a couple of places but all...More

The distance up is not the worry, but the slippery rocks and lack of purchase is very difficult. The view is fantastic. But do not go if you are not experienced.

This walk offers a bit of everything! We took the baby up here at 8mnths old! Lovely views, a bit of scrambling! Easy to moderate walk! Done this over 10times now, will keep coming in the future as well! The views never get boring.....

Cat Bells is one of the first walks we do in Lakeland as it really is a mountain in miniture. We always start with the route along the main ridge, you can have a simple scramble or stick to the thin path on the rocky...More

Not sure about the 3.5 year old to be honest. You will probably need to carry him or her for a lot of it. If you're ok with that, then go for it. I did a lot with my kids in Colorado many years ago. They were better on... More

It takes about 3 hours. Another nice trek with a lovely view of the lake on the Keswick side that is not too strenuous is Latrigg. You can drive up to a car park and then take a short trek to Latrigg. If you want more of a... More
