What a fantastic place! We enjoyed a great rainy afternoon in the Lakes watching Sing. With free coffee and comfy chairs we loved the character of this traditional cinema. However, don't be fooled by this. The picture and sound is as sharp as any modern offering. Stick this on your things to do on a rainy day in the Lakes.... More

Was planning a cinema evening with my family but arrived early. Decided to wander the streets and do a bit of window shopping. My wife needed the loo so we walked back to the cinema. It was open but the previous performance was still showing so she niopped in to use the loo - when she got a real telling... More

Sorry you were not made welcome to use the toilets on your visit. It is our policy to make these available to all visitors whether customers on not - this should never have happened. Please accept my apologies and when you are next in Keswick please introduce yourself and pick up two complimentary tickets by way of compensation. I do... More

A super old cinema, just like cinemas used to be. Tiny foyer, free coffee/tea (how many cinemas offer that these days?) comfy seats, plenty leg room, together with up to date films and a ticket price of £7. What a bargain! Definitely worth checking to see what's on if your in the area but also for the 'time forgotten' special... More

When staying at Keswick, I always check on what's on at this cinema. It has a regular programme of up-to-date mainstream films, and occasionally (once a month?) something interesting of more specialised interest.

Go take in a movie here just for the experience! Tom, the theatre manager who has been running this theatre for the last 20 years is a vey interesting fellow and more than happy to provide you with a tour, just ask. You also get the treat of free coffee, tea or hot chocolate to enjoy while watching the movie.... More

Friendly welcome. Entry and sweets etc were about a third of the price you'd pay at VUE et al. FREE tea and coffee. The whole cinema including the frontage, lay out, decor and furniture is a throwback to bygone era and is thoroughly charming. It's the absolute antithesis of a visit to one of the soulless complexes you find in... More

Much like the Picture House in Hebden Bridge. A charming, lovingly-maintained old theatre. Well restored and obviously cared for. Seats are fine - with good knee clearance! Sound and imaging were fine. And aN interesting programme.

A quaint, historic cinema. Layout in the style of an old theatre - stalls on ground floor or balcony above. Good value tickets - £6 stalls, £7 balcony. The screen was of a good size and the view excellent. The sound was a touch lacking, didn't quite have enough oomph. Unsure if this was our particular film or reflective of... More

Went to see the film "Captain Fantastic" on a whim while on holiday in the Lake District. A great film and a wonderful cinema with old-world charm and excellent customer service. Tom, the owner even offered to show us the projection room and we took him up on the offer. Great fun. What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday... More

Our first real rainy day in Keswick for a while and so took our kids to the cinema. £18 Family ticket for 2 adults and 2 kids in the stalls section was a bargain as was the £1.10 for a decent sized soft drink. The man on the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The seats were comfortable and... More
