Penrith's AWARD WINNING independently owned bookshop in an 18th century building the center of town. Children's books are downstairs (accessible for prams) & grown up books upstairs. The shop is also open on Sundays 11:00 - 4:30 during the summer. We used to have a small vegan coffee shop, but this closed in September 2015 to make room for more books. It had excellent reviews here, so I'm sorry to disappoint fans, but in the end it really wasn't viable and expanding the bookshop made more sense & the book side of the business continues to thrive with a huge amount of local support (for which - thank you everyone!)

On a cold day we found a warm welcome and lovely coffee. Couldn't resist the children's books and the selection of jigsaws. Returned in August .

Quite honestly one of the best bookshops I've ever been to. The children's book selection was amazing, not just current popular titles but some classics from my childhood too. The board book section is brilliant. Then you go upstairs... I only had a quick look...More
