This was our second visit to Aira Force and it just keeps getting better and better. Although it is free to visit there is a National Trust car park there, which is expensive. If you can you can get free parking on the roadside just before the car park but you need to get there early. Brilliant place for kids... More

A lovely walk through the woodland to the waterfall. Got some fabulous photos. The NT car park was more than half full but we only saw a few other people (I'm not a fan of crowds). If you're in the area it's well worth a visit.

Decided to visit on Sunday afternoon when looking for a short interesting walk. Always loved this place as a child but hadn't visited for a long time. This walk is an exceptionally organised route which is clean, well pathed and easy to walk. We decided to head up past Aira Force and to the top of the hill which provided... More

This is a great morning or afternoon excursion if in the Glenridding area. There is a national trust car park at the bottom which gets full by mid morning during high season. The path form there up to the high waterfall is delightful with lots of smaller waterfalls before reaching larger ones near the top. It is well worth keeping... More

Very attractive waterfall valley with paths and trails well maintained by National Trust. For the more energetic a walk extension onto Gowbarrow Fell is recommended - for great views of Ullswater

We arrived early and were the only people in the car park. It was so quite and peaceful. We saw some wonderful wildlife and had a great walk to the waterfall. By the time we came back the car park was full! This place is beautiful well worth taking time to have a walk

Lovely walk through lovely woods to the magnificent falls, which I'd imagine is even more spectacular after heavy rain. The walk from the National Trust car park might be a bit tricky for young children or people with mobility problems. The hike up is well worth the visit. Plenty of good spots on the way up for photo opportunities. The... More

Impressive Waterfall adjacent to Ullswater. Parked in the National Trust car park near the bottom of the falls. Followed the pathway to the top of the falls, pausing at the various viewing platforms for photos. Walked back to the car park on an alternate route and stopped for coffee and cake, Splendid panorama, moderate exercise, topped up on calories. Perfect... More

I remember this walk from my childhood so it was special to do again with my kids. Not much has changed, lovely walk then and lovely walk now. Path well maintained, large car park still busy on hot summer days in high season. Lovely little cafe. Toilets available. Easily managed by my 5 yr old.

We walked round this area and back to our campsite, the waterfall was spectacular, the tea-rooms were super and the views are great!
