Lake District Adventure Sightseeing Day Trip from Liverpool

38 reviews
Getting to and around the Lake District from Liverpool alone means relying on hire cars, or trains and buses. Skip the effort with a day trip that makes everything smooth and easy, and showcases some of the region’s highlights and under-the-radar sights. Explore Ambleside, hike around Blea Tarn, see Castlerigg Stone Circle, and enjoy an optional Lake Windermere cruise (own cost), all without any worries detracting from the scenery.

Good parking at the National Trust car park, free for NT members. Well maintained paths with a good circular walk, steep in some sections, to take in the waterfall and surrounding views.

We visited here with our dog. Parking was a nightmare as the car park was rammed and people queuing and just driving round and round. Eventually managed to park. We had a great walk with our dog around the area and up to the water fall. It is a bit of an up hill, but then it is all down hill on the way back.

Didn’t really know what to expect but didn’t imagine series of cascades over more than a mile and each more spectacular than the last one. We were lucky that it had been so wet recently so the waters were boiling. Be sure to walk right to the top and. It turn back half way along. Easy walk for anyone reasonably fit but a walking pole helps as the path can be slippy.

This National Trust area is well maintain with a one way system because of Covid. No suitable for buggy's or wheelchairs but otherwise the walk is quite easy. There are amazing views of the waterfalls and good photographic opportunities. The car park is large and the parking fee is the fee to go around

Lovely waterfall to visit, car park a very short walk away but hilly. Easily accessible with a path all around.
