I have spent quite a few mornings at Windermere and every time I found it different and new. A beautiful place to be and offers great walks around its hills.

Good place to escape from the city and calm yourself down. Try to do some research on bus schedule or you will lose lots of time waiting for buses and ferry.

This has got to be the most beautiful part of the UK. The whole area of the Lake District is full of historical and modern attractions. There is something to do in the dry and wet weather. (it doesn't rain as much as is believed) The choice of Hotels, B&Bs and restaurants is also a big plus for coming here.

From Coniston we drove to Newby Bridge at the south end of Windermere lake and drove up all the way to Ambleside on a rainy day. It is the largest lake in the Lake District and probably the largest natural lake in England. Too bad it was raining from time to time but this did not deter us from enjoying... More
