Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You have to go through a lovely camp site and off the beaten track to eventually end up at a beautiful little barn in the side of the hill. There were 3 of us in our group plus the hack guide. All the horses were amazing and didn't put a foot wrong. My only criticism is that the actual hack it's self was a little boring. We went up a steep path, along a rocky bridleway, which we were able to trot a few times along then we turned around and headed back the exact same way we come from. Don't get me wrong the scenery was breathtaking but if and if your a novice rider then its probably perfect. But if you are let's say a more experienced rider then you may want to look else where for a decent hack out.

Fantastic hours pony trek with Katy the staff member who lead the pony trek. Katy was very friendly and patient. She lead us on a lovely hours pony trek through some amazing scenery in a valley. We even managed a few trots along the way which was such fun. Highly recommend this place if your in the lakes. It’s only a 15 minute car ride from Windermere.

My daughter and I did a one hour hack led by Kim. The ponies were well kept and very steady. I haven’t ridden in 17 years and Kim checked in with me throughout the ride as to how I was doing. We wished we’d booked a 2 hour hack!

I took my granddaughter for the one-hour trek, we both can ride so we know nice, well-kept ponies when we see them. These ponies were well cared for and happy.
I rode Storm, he was well-mannered, responsive and a joy to ride. My granddaughter rode Gina who she fell in love with and thoroughly enjoyed riding.
The area is just beautiful and what better way to see it than on the back of a lovely safe pony.
If I had the very smallest gripe, it would have been nice to have done a circuit and not turn back on the same path but that in no way spoilt a perfect afternoon!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lakeland Treks to anyone!

Absolutely fantastic place to go. We took my grandson for a lead rein pony trek, his first time on a pony! Great experience and beautiful country side. He really enjoyed it and although a little nervous at first he was soon put at ease and had a brilliant time. Bear was a dream ride for him and the staff were so helpful and friendly! Wouldn’t hesitate to book again next time we’re near.

We had an absolutely lovely trek out with “Karen” on fabulously steady horses / ponies. The trek is set in the beautiful glens above Troutbeck. (Not far by car from either Windermere or Ambleside). All riding levels catered for - Karen had us sussed and adapted the trek to our abilities. Would highly recommend, friendly knowledgeable staff and horses!!

Hi I have a 4 year old who would love this... What is the shortest ride you offer and is this a dog friendly place as we have a puppy who we could not leave in our accommodation due to policy.

Hi I would think you and your puppy can walk with your 4 year old on the pony for half an hour. The pony will be on a lead rein. I hope that is helpful.

is there a minimum age? my daughter will be 6 in July 2017 and she's had a pony ride being led with someone walking along side her. I'm wondering if there is something perhaps we could do as a family (myself, partner and son have ridden before but not for a while). thanks.
