Brockhole on Windermere offers activities to suit everyone, from toddlers to adventure seekers to those in search of an ultra-relaxing experience whilst enjoying their time in the Lake District. It's all here in one place, set against stunning mountain views on the shores of Windermere in the Lake District National Park, Cumbria. From family activities to glorious garden tours and seasonal events, there really is something for all ages. Why not explore 30 acres of beautiful historical gardens and grounds? Or picnic by the lakeshore and enjoy secret beaches with the family? If the children are feeling more adventurous they can swing or bounce through ancient woodland on Treetop Trek and Treetop Nets. Down by the lakeshore, you can hire kayaks and rowing boats, enjoy or catch the cruise boat across the lake, depending on the season. There's also archery, bike hire and mini golf on offer during the season. Don't forget to finish your day by taking in the stunning lake views offering stunning views towards the distant Langdale Pikes at the terrace café, while enjoying local ales and dishes. There's also a well-stocked gift shop and ever changing exhibition space to enjoy indoors.

We visited yesterday, great views, not much was open but I guess due to season. The cafe staff need more training as they messed our orders up a few times and wasn't very welcoming on the outside due to scaffolding.

Many thanks for taking the time to send us your review. First of all let me apologise for your experience in the café which I have brought to the attention of the manager there to follow up on. Shocking customer treatment to issue parking fines to one of the only families to walk through the door on a cold wet November day! There were only two cars in the whole car park!!!!!! Completely wrong priorities. Absolutely despicable. Do not recommend on any basis.

This is more than the Lake District visitors centre. This place is beautiful. Right on the edge of Lake Windermere. Beautiful gardens. Amazing views. Visitor centre with everything you need to know about Lake District. Wonderful food in cafe. Treetop adventure. Playground in the sky. Awesome place.

Sadly a wet day so the main outdoor activities were closed. However the shop, tea room and soft play area were ok. However be aware of the parking charges!! The weather was so bad I never noticed the parking signs and received a fine. I assumed incorrectly that the parking was part of the attraction. In other resort areas parking... More

This place is advertised as having a soft play barn. It's actually a small room with some old and worn soft toys. Given we were they only people there it didn't stop the LO having an hour of fun as she had the run of the place. Don't go expecting anything like a wacky house. The cafe was fab, good... More

There are lots of different activities going on at this place - I quite fancied the tree-top trekking! However, our last visit was for an afternoon concert, followed by afternoon tea. The Elysia string quartet played a lovely mixed programme, ranging from Bach to the Beatles, via Purcell, John Denver and many others. It was gorgeous, as was the tea... More
