Brockhole on Windermere offers activities to suit everyone, from toddlers to adventure seekers to those in search of an ultra-relaxing experience whilst enjoying their time in the Lake District. It's all here in one place, set against stunning mountain views on the shores of Windermere in the Lake District National Park, Cumbria. From family activities to glorious garden tours and seasonal events, there really is something for all ages. Why not explore 30 acres of beautiful historical gardens and grounds? Or picnic by the lakeshore and enjoy secret beaches with the family? If the children are feeling more adventurous they can swing or bounce through ancient woodland on Treetop Trek and Treetop Nets. Down by the lakeshore, you can hire kayaks and rowing boats, enjoy or catch the cruise boat across the lake, depending on the season. There's also archery, bike hire and mini golf on offer during the season. Don't forget to finish your day by taking in the stunning lake views offering stunning views towards the distant Langdale Pikes at the terrace café, while enjoying local ales and dishes. There's also a well-stocked gift shop and ever changing exhibition space to enjoy indoors.

Visitor Centre We passed this facility a few times, and thought it might be a way of filling an odd hour on a wet day. We walked there today, and were amazed. We expected a few rooms with exhibition of history and wild life. But there are activities galore, with children getting togged up for adventures in the trees, and so... More

This was great fun well presented. We were a mixture of ages from six to thirteen. The children were very well engaged and encouraged. Great for building confidence. Would highly recommend. PS the grown ups enjoyed it as well !!!!

Me and my girlfriend had a great time here one morning in July last year. We hired a rowing boat for 2 hours and really enjoyed being out on the lake. The staff down by the lake hiring out the boats were excellent 10/10. I nearly rated 4/5 because of the parking charges though. Yes, those that come and enjoy... More

I really want to write a great review for brockhole; I have been visiting since I was a child, over 3 decades ago and now bring my own children. In the 80s and 90s the highlight of brockhole was the *huge* adventure playground couple with a wonderful walk through Beatrix potter exhibition with all the creatures (exactly as you see... More

If the weather is clement and you are in the area and have kids, this place is ideal. It has tree top climbing and tree nets £17 per child. Adults can also take part in the activities. It also has boating, paddle boarding, archery. You can catch a boat and have a tour of the lake. There is also and... More

If you want a fab overpriced adventure then head to Brockholes....we went expecting to pay for parking, play on the park and amble along the foreshore of Lake Windermere. But no it's all changed and taken over by private companies who want your money. The first thing we see us the Tree Top Trek, which is a high rope course,... More

Anyone from 3 years upwards so it's very family-friendly. No experience or skill is required, just a 'have a go' attitude. My little boy of 3 years and myself had a great time bouncing in the tree tops, two hours of laughter and fun. Looking down at his grandparents. Finished off up at the cafe for a coffee and toffee... We visited the tree top nets here in September as a day out for a 30th birthday. It was great as it suited all ages and we all really enjoyed it. We had a lovely picnic near the lake and a walk around and also enjoyed the play ground for younger children. The gift shop and information centre there were... More
