Fantastic attraction but wasn’t really for me. I don’t want to be unfair and leave a negative review. Let me explain… You’re with a group of other people when doing the whole experience (maybe 30-35 others) and it takes about 45 mins. You get picked on to do stuff and you don’t have a choice. This is the bit I didn’t like. Whilst most people will be okay with this, I’m not. Perhaps you should make it clear when booking on your website or at reception before booking that you may get picked on to do stuff in front of the whole crowd. Some people were picked on to get up and talk whilst others picked on to do activities. I was picked on and not comfortable with this setting and didn’t really enjoy it. That’s just me as a person and I’m sure there’s others who feel like this but not everyone. That’s why for others the experience will be fantastic. The staff are friendly from start to finish and the people inside are great actors in character and very professional. There’s a drop down ride at the end which was really good. You don’t have to go on it, you can exit if you want. We bought our downloaded pics that they took at start. Overall it’s a nice experience and something really different but not for me. Perhaps you can refuse to get selected in some way, surely you must know not everyone is comfortable to be picked. (But I guess that’s part of the experience so would like to have been made well aware of this) Anyone reading this, if you’re comfortable with it, it’ll be fanatic for you. The experience is really good.

Hello, Thank you for your review on the Blackpool Tower Dungeon. I am sorry to hear that making you part of the show made you feel uncomfortable. An important part of our brand and usually a triumphant part of our experience is that we include our guests in the shows. This is not to embarrass anyone or make them feel uncomfortable, it is to try and immerse our guests into the storytelling of the history . I am only sorry that this wasn't to your taste. Joining in and becoming part of the dungeon tour is optional for all of our guests and everyone has the opportunity to opt out of participating Kind regards, Aaron

This is the second time we have been to Blackpool Dungeon and once again it did not disappoint. The actors are incredibly good and involve everyone as much as possible in the story. The atmosphere was excellent throughout particularly in the witches cottage.
The only reasons I am not rating this five is due to paying for a guide book and none being available. I was told to ask for a refund upon leaving, but forgot (my fault I know). Also I paid for a drink in the Red Lion afterwards and I have to say the young lady behind the bar was not very friendly or accommodating. I don't know whether she was having a bad day or a tough shift, but this passed on to the customer. Finally we paid £30 for a photograph package and the quality of these was not great. Very dark and not a patch on the photos from our previous visit.
In summary 10 out of 10 for the actors and attractions but, I am sorry to say it was a 5 out of 10 for the service at the Red Lion and the quality of the photos.

My son (13 years old) and I went together. It was an hour well spent. It was extremely scary and spooky. We both had an amazing time. The actors were fantastic and I would definitely recommend it to thrill seekers who like the unnatural....
I would caution people with mobility problems as you do have to bend down and walk down a lot of stairs.

First time going to the blackpool one and I wasn’t disappointed! I attended with my 10 year old an we laughed so much! The actors were great, the effects were great, and we genuinely got scared in parts which made it even more funnier, there’s also lots of interactive parts. Lasted about an hour so definitely worth the money. There is an opportunity to buy your photos at the end after the ride, and a cute little bar area to get a drink at the exit. Please though, STOP taking your young children!! 5 years and below don’t want to be sat moving from room to room in the dark for an hour so they end up screaming and crying which ruins it for everyone else! If I had one negative for the place it’s to set a minimum age limit on it, literally people waking around holding crying babies like it’s a soft place area! Well done to all staff though, they do a really good job 👏🏽

Hello, Thank you for your review of the Blackpool Tower Dungeon. I am very pleased to hear that you loved your time with us. We are a family attraction and so try to make the Dungeons a scary but fun attraction. We do not recommend the Dungeons for anyone who is under 8 but it is left at the parent's discretion. We cannot stop children from coming in and it would be a shame to do so. Many children absolutely love the Dungeon. Kind Regards AAron

Really good attraction! Takes about an hour, going through multiple sets, each representing a particularly horrible part of history (in a good way!), with actors re-enacting various roles, plus the occasional jump scare mixed in with the historical tales. It's dark and smelly, to simulate those olden times, and the attention to detail for both the actors and sets is impressive. There's great audience interaction/participation at various points and the actors are great at having some fun with the visitors! The ride at the end is also a fun way to finish. Really enjoyed this attraction. Might not hold up to repeat visits (as you know what's coming) but definitely recommended!

Great experience, you go in a group so need to turn up at your designated time. I had 2x 10 year olds with me and they enjoyed it but said it was scary in parts so id seriously asses whether you think your child is old enough as one family had to leave from our group.
The Dungeons is a mix of scary funny and history all thrown into one immersive experience where individuals are called upon to take part. The actors are fantastic and keep in character and play their part so well. Would definitely recommend to others but be mindful its a smelly, scary and dark

A really enjoyable experience. The various characters were authentic in their dress and portrail and the history they told was interesting. My poor husband was chosen twice to be a participant. My grandson of 11 yrs really enjoyed this Halloween treat. Just two things to note. Each room had a fragrance and they were extremely strong, I put a mask on to help muffle the smell. The other thing was at the very end when getting settled into the ride, the staff asked if anyone had various medical concerns or if the safety bar was too tight. I found it too tight on my tummy so had to get off and miss out on the experience. But overall we enjoyed it.

Really well structured, takes you through diff stages in Lancashire’s scary history - sets are great, all very atmospheric - but the actors are the real stars, so talented & professional, they seem to have fun which is very infectious (no plague pun intended!!) not as scary as we expected but that’s not a bad thing as it was fun for kids too - still plenty of jumps & shocks to be had !! Would def recommend ☺️

What an amazing experience.
You are immediately immersed as soon as you arrive by amazingly talented actors. Watch out when they jump out to scare you though lol.
It’s well worth the money. 11 different rooms to experience through the journey.
The whole experience is so well created. The decor is of a very high standard and well maintained.
It is spooky, funny, historically accurate and informing.
We were a mixed group of ages from 10 to 44 and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!
Definitely recommended to anyone visiting Blackpool.
