- David DDevon, United Kingdom20,407 contributionsInteresting facadeSaturday 25th March we were walking about exploring and sightseeing in Blackpool. This entertainment complex and theatre is one of the most eye-catching buildings we saw. It is located along Church Street, a short distance from the seafront and in the shadow of the mighty Blackpool Tower. A Grade II listed building which opened it's doors in 1878. We did not go into the building, however we did stop for a few moments to admire the facade of the building. The iconic frontage is rather unmissable walking by with it's high arched roof above the entrance with the large blue letters spelling out the name of the venue. They are above a number of small panelled windows. The pavement, at the front of building, is blocked paved with the words "Winter Gardens" embedded into the design.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 April 2023

Have been to many shows pre lockdown and have been to a few since everything has opened up again. Plenty of choice for future visits.Visited May 2023Travelled soloWritten 4 May 2023
- JennyLancaster, United Kingdom5 contributionsLovely tripReally enjoyed seeing Mamma Mia here with my mum. We sat in the upper circle and had a good view. Toilets very clean and staff very helpful. My mum lost her snood and though they tried to look for it, we’ve lost it for good! 😥 that was the only bad thing, the rest of our trip was wonderful!Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 July 2023

He kept going of stage and out coming back out he was of breath not good at all. Would think again before going to watch him. Was great at all. No dancing from him and only 3 backing dancer which wasn’t in time with each other. Wouldn’t rush to go and see him. Disappointed.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 August 2023
- LAKEDISTRICTTEDLancaster, United Kingdom102 contributionsBirthday treatWe booked afternoon tea recently , 1 person requested no cheese ,but got a cheese sandwich, 2nd person requested vegetarian, and got a meat sandwich. The sandwiches did not taste or look freshly made, the salad items were soggy and limp. The scones were nice ,but found the cakes very sweet and sickly. Won't be in any rush to book again. The waitress was pleasant and friendly.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 10 September 2023

What a fabulous show myself and my husband enjoyed every minute from start to finish and I would highly recommend the show. - Sara DBlackpool, United Kingdom2 contributionsVictorian Splendor!Beautiful, especially since they restored many of the original features and revealed the true original features in the cafe. If only it had never been changed, however it is gorgeous more so in the night. Though it is no longer a garden it is still a pleasant place to sit and rest a while. I have been to many an event here and always had a great time with family of all ages.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 October 2023

The actual venue was a vast leisure complex with lots of bars and places to eat inside. We did not realise until we arrived! The building itself was very grand and quite spectacular,clearly very old and I would expect it is a listed building with some history and stories to tell. Email to the complaints dept;
I am absolutely disgusted that after following your procedure, I have not had one response to a phone call or email.
I spent over £156 (including add-ons for local tram services) to bring my children to see Peter Pan but unfortunately clicked on the incorrect date. The instructions included in the confirmation email stated to email to amend the date,which I did several times. I also rang the box office and ticket lines on numerous occaisions on a daily basis only to be met by an automated message that didn't in any way assist.
I did not want a refund and wouldn't have expected one. I merely wanted to amend that attedance date.
I have not recieved an email or telephone call from anybody nor any attempt to help.
I find this absolutetly shocking and then the icing on the cake is to recieve an unsolicited email asking for a review!
I still want to take my children to this event as I always have done, How can you rectify my complaint please?
Regards,

The building itself is very ornate and the inside is kept very clean. We had never been to the Winter Gardens before and was looking forward to seeing Peter Pan with Doris Kemsley and Boy George. We were extremely disappointed to realise half way through the show that Dorit was not coming on stage. We had to find out from other visitors she had cancelled, and they only found out the same evening from a staff member. There was no communication from the venue regarding the change to casting but 'they put a post on social media, which I do not use. The staff at the bar were very rude, making sly comments to our faces about having to bend down to get a (£30) bottle of wine from the fridge. The show itself was amateur, and became tiring to watch very quickly. Boy George seemed annoyed he was there and gave off very little energy. A manager on shift came defensive very quickly when I asked about Dorit and immediately threw 'small print' in my face. Overall a rather poor experience, down to quality of show, poor communication from the venue and staff with attitude problems.

Booked tickets for my wife and I to see the Suxtys Gold tour at Blackpool Opera House and what a show
Some of these performers are well into there 70s and 80s and really do out in an excellent show and look like they are enjoy it themselves
Tonight we saw the Fourmosts,Gerry’s Pacemakers,Spencer Davis,Dave Berry Steve Ellis of Loveaffair ,Herman’s Hermits and the marvellous Marmalade.While some of the voices were a bit iffy the atmosphere was magnificent and would I go again .
Yes I would and so should you if you are of that age
