We did Ai9 today and to be honest I was a little disappointed. We have completed a couple of other Escape Rooms at other venues and this really lacked imagination. A single room with lots of padlocked small cupboards to unlock by solving small puzzles. Previous rooms we have completed involved several rooms and lots more props in the room which include red herrings and made things much more interesting. There was no guessing involved as to which padlock we needed to open each time.
It was only marketed as a 2 key difficulty so we weren’t expecting it to be too difficult but we all felt it lacked imagination.
Our team of 4 which included a 13 and 16 year old completed the game with over 16 minutes to spare. It felt a bit quick for something that costs so much. I don’t think we’ll be back. Shame as the girl who looked after us was nice. The game could be much improved.

First ever time going to an escape room, and my last. I've since spoken to friends about my experience and why I wouldn't go back and was told that what I experienced was very unusual and totally appalling so thought I'd place a review about it. I played the Cell Block C game and got off to a reasonable start, however we got to a stage where you had to put things together to push a button in a tube, which did nothing, for about 10 minutes. We were frantically locked in cages trying to figure things out, until a message came up on the TV about putting things together, so we said we'd already done that, and then they said hit the emergency release button. I said the only button is one we're not allowed to press and then the TV said you can press it anyway. We thought we'd skipped a lot of the process because of this as we were playing badly which put us off our game, as well as loosing about 10 minutes of game play. We failed, even with a few extra minutes added at the end. When they came to collect us I asked about the button, and they apologised and said a walk in had come in and they weren't able to pay attention to us and that the button wasn't working which is why they added a few minutes to the game. Even with those few minutes (not the full time missed), and not being told some of the game was not working, we were totally put off that we weren't doing things in the correct order and had completely messed up. Since this experience, I've never gone back to any escape room as they felt disorganised and poorly managed.
At friends recommendations, I'm going to try another escape room elsewhere, however, I don't feel the way this game was handled was appropriate or worth the money. I can only hope that since my visit 12 months ago they've repaired this fault, and they no longer let people play escape in rooms that are faulty.

Extremely poor management, spent 3 hours on the phone back and forth booking an escape room. On the first call before payment y was described and had the go ahead, then payed and booked. Later before we left got a candlestick call and no clear response, followed by another call saying it wasn’t cancelled and then another saying it was. Simply not good enough for a company to have this management, unclear and seems dishonest to take payment then cancel after. A women on the phone was nice and helpful but is not good enough form the situation that it was as no clear explanation, answer or result was given. Would not recommend the booking process. To conclude, allowed us to book on a system what was known to be short staffed and still took the payment despite this without communicating this also.

I’ve played four escape rooms prior to playing this one and it was awful. When me and my mum arrived at the location we were a bit sceptical about it as it didn’t look great. When we arrived, another team was finishing and complained about puzzles being broken and not working. We still payed the £50 for an adult and child and went into the room “ the curse of the Sphinx”
Upon entering the room we soon realised it was very rundown and empty…. There was a jammed padlock that we luckily managed to free. However, as we continued to play the room we were disappointed to find out that almost ALL the puzzles were padlocks. We didn’t escape in the end, however that has no reflection on my review. We had to ask multiple times for help to which sometimes we were waiting for ages!
Definitely won’t be back here anytime soon….

Went as a family of five and thoroughly enjoyed it. Did we escape? Yes we did! (Maybe with a small clue). Did it teach us to work as a team? In the main, yes, (we are a family after all and so always find something to disagree about). Did I stand there at one point and think to myself "I don't know what to do"? You bet! But did we have a laugh? Yes!
I would thoroughly recommend Clue HQ. The host was welcoming and explained everything in detail before letting us in to the room and letting us get on with it.

Really, really poor escape room! We did the Curse of the Sphinx, the room and props were all shabby and over-used. Many of the puzzles had broken elements, including the grande finale puzzle, so several times we had to call the game master in to proceed. Too many 4-digit padlocks so every time you get a code, you spend 5 minutes trying every padlock in the room.. The whole experience was disappointing and I'm shocked that this place has such a high rating. Don't waste your time, go to Escape Leicester instead.

First time visit to Clue HQ but I was already happy with the customer service as when I made the booking I’d booked one room for one day and one room for another instead of both on the same day, I mailed the address on the email thinking it would be a a few days to resolve but I got an email response barely 30 minutes later and we were all sorted. We played three rooms, Cell Block C, Bunker 38 and the Betrayal of Cluetankhamun. Clue HQ tend to be use a lot of padlocks, consequently a lot of the rooms are search heavy but with some traditional logic puzzles in there as well. Of the three we played, Cluetankhamun was the easily the favourite, we escaped with 23 seconds left. Zain was our GM and he was great throughout, professional and helpful. Currently intending to go back at some point.

Altogether, we have done AI9, Bunker, Cluetenkhamun and Cell Block C. All are very enjoyable and the themes are good. There are a couple puzzles that have left my group and I got 'wtf?!' as the solution made zero sense and there is no logic behind them. Other than that a very enjoyable experience. I wouldn't recommend if it is your first time doing escape rooms though as the puzzles are very challenging

This place is such a disappointment. Extremely dilapidated set up. The computer system wasn’t working in the room we booked and the room itself had bits missing and things hanging off the walls. We took our teenage grandchildren as a treat and we all felt dejected and let down. I sent an email to the email address given on the website but surprise, surprise, no reply. Do not go to this place.

Booked this as a birthday activity for 6 lads. Was greeted by a very grumpy guy, bordering on rude!
We did the Bunker 38 escape room, which was very uninteresting. Basically just a bunch of padlocks and locked boxes. Very little in terms of creativity.
The room was set up incorrectly, and one of the boxes had the wrong lock, so when we asked for clues we were given the wrong combination. Eventually the host had to come in and change the lock to get us going again. All of this ate heavily into our time allocation, which they didn't pause or increase.
In spite of this, we still managed to escape, but were offered no apology, and they seemed more interested in getting us out of there as fast as possible so they could go home (we were the last group of the day).
I have done 6 escape room before at different locations, including one at "Clue HQ" a year ago, which was actually very good. However Bunker 38 and our host for the event will ensure I go elsewhere for my next booking.

It’s not scary so in that sense yes, but the games would be far too hard for them.
