Since this is my first English castle, and my first overnight at a castle, I don't have a great deal to compare it to. My red and gold bedroom had unbelievably high ceilings, a full size canopy bed and chaise lounge the size of a twin bed. It was a movie setting. I felt like I had fallen into my... More

This castle and surroundings are absolutely amazing, I visited and it literally took my breath away. The moment I set eyes on Belvoir, it felt like I had gone back in time. I was gobsmacked to say the least. The beauty and splendour, the architecture, the gardens, it was a pleasure to see. If I had visited as a child,... More

The Castle and grounds were fabulous. There were new areas in the grounds and easy to follow trails. The employees in the castle were extremely knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Good variety of gifts in the shop. A lovely place to visit with loads of family pictures all around the place showing a lovely family growing up.

Towering over the Vale of Belvoir, the home of the Duke of Rutland is a Leicestershire landmark well worth a visit. The house itself is magnificent, full of surprisingly delightful objects, painting ect. The gardens are also wonderfully laid out and offering interesting contrasts. The only two small criticisms are the lack of refreshment facilities and the map of the... More

I have loved this place since childhood and wanted to take my partner to show him what a lovely setting and castle it is. It still is...however a few issues tainted the day. Paying £2 to park your car when you are paying £15 each to get in is ridiculous. Queueing for your tickets to get in with people queueing... More

This castle stands on a high shoulder of land between Grantham and Melton Mowbray. It catches your eye on the horizon wherever you are in the area and had beckoned me for a very long time. At last I decided to visit and made the journey from Yorkshire a couple of weeks ago. My wife and I were not disappointed!... More

We recent visited Belvoir and enjoyed our tour of the house. This was unfortunately spoiled by the only refreshments available were at the bottom carpark. We were a number of ladies of a certain age and if it hadn't been for a very obliging coach driver some of us would not have made it up and down the hill and... More

I have seen, worked with and generally been to many castles and stately homes and I can honestly say this is one of the nicest castles I have been to. Well laid out and elegant it was helped by lovely staff and the castle owl. Yes I said owl - he was beautiful and well loved. Worth a visit and... More
