When it's bucketing down this is charming for an hour. The art gallery has fine paintings. A David Roberts was a particular pleasant surprise. Nice galleries. not all the computers with information were working. Coffee shop is popular but is a Costa.

A great way to spend a rainy afternoon. There are lots of excellent exhibits and the place would merit more than one visit. Parking is not great though so do a search before you go.

We visited here with two boys under five. They absolutely loved the museum. Especially the animal section, Egypt and the dinosaurs. The museum is very geared for children and the walk up New Walk from town is also lovely. Would highly recommend! It also has baby changing and a costa coffee.

This venue is a wonderful part of Leicester, located down a lovely stretch of traffic free path in Leicester, full of regency style buildings and beautiful tree, then you step inside- The exhibits are not exactly perfect or upto the standard of some of the museums in other locations around the country but barring in mind that this is also... I went there and i expect to see a normal museum but it was really good. There are three sections: *Dinosaurs *Wild animal/bird/sea life *Ancient Egypt I highly recommend this place to visit as there is a kids area to play in & cafes to rest.

I accompanied my teacher daughter to see the dinosaur area prior to a school visit. It was very interesting and contains exhibits found from an area around Leicester. Did ask a question of one of the guides which he couldn't answer, he went to enquire from someone else but never got back to us. The young man at the reception... More

Interesting range of exhibits. Often have special events. Small well stocked shop. Family friendly. Nothing not to like!

The Museum part is good for children with captions intended to catch children's attention. The mix with an art gallery is not my cup of tea, but that's an individual taste.
