Informative and fun for both children and adults!
Oct 2021 • Family
We had a great couple of days here with lots to see and do - as entry converts to an annual pass for free, we spent most of one day here plus a few hours the following day.

Lots of interactive hands-on parts and videos, along with other information all very well presented - interesting and engaging for us as well as our children (aged under 10).

A 20-minute planetarium show was included in the ticket on the first day although I found this aspect slightly disappointing as didn’t really feel that the show made proper use of it being a planetarium.

Food and drink was reasonably priced and decent quality.

Super great for young and adults alike!
Oct 2021
Super interesting and varied experience!

Pros:
- it's very easy to spend all day there! (we stayed from 11:00-15:30).
- So much information, very informative
= Lots of interactive exhibits, which is fun for children (and the big kid adults ha)
- The Planetarium is amazing and a must go
- It's so much bigger than you think! (or remember in my case)
- Very nostalgic for those that live in Leicester and probably got brought here all the time in school
- The cafe is not half bad! Prices are not too steep, and the portions are really good!
- Amazing experience for all ages.

Cons:
- So many children everywhere. This won't be an issue for everyone of course, but a vast majority were screaming and excessively loud. They weren't not well behaved, just very noisy. E.g. hearing kids talk +++ through the planetarium experience without parents asking them to shhhhh. Teachered managed well!
- It would be awesome to see some adult/teen and above day shows at the planetarium during the day mixed in with the 5+ shows, to avoid the loudness and interruptions of what is an awesome experience otherwise.

Overall:
Awesome experience, well worth yearly pass to attend all the random events and exhibits that happen and the different shows at the planetarium. Just be aware that it can get very loud due to the young people attending the centre - its just excitement of course, but loud none-the-less.

Thanks for visiting and supporting the National Space Centre, and for your review. We recommend the Centre is quietest on a weekday afternoon when schools have left and we only have a handful of visitors in the building. Please do also check out our Space Lates evening events which are much quieter and have content for those who want to learn more about science and space research and stories. These also include curated planetarium shows. We will share your feedback as we are always looking at ways we can improve. We are delighted you had a great day out and look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Space Lates- great evening event
Oct 2021 • Couples
Visited for the Space Lates session - Women in Space. Really enjoyed the talks and interactive sessions. Planetarium show was excellent.
Can I suggest the talks and the planetarium show don't overlap as it was a shame to miss the end of the talk. This would have been 5 stars then. Well done all

Huge thanks for joining us for Space Lates. Thanks for your feedback, we have passed this on to our team and are looking into how we can best schedule the evening in future as the planetarium shows always overlap with the talks. We are delighted you had a great evening out and look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Lots to do!!
Oct 2021 • Couples
Really interesting, so much to see and do,the Planetarium was brilliant at the end. There where about 3 or 4 school trips of varying different ages throughout the day (hats off to the teachers!) some of the kids where interested, some where not, and where rather noisy….. didn’t spoil our day, however some may find it a little off putting!! There was a statement somewhere saying masks where mandatory, however very few people wore them, and considering so much is interactive, I didn’t see a single thing being cleaned, or really anything to clean or wipe down with, hand sanitizer was available. Other than those small things a great day out!!

Thanks for visiting and supporting the National Space Centre, and for your review. We recommend the Centre is quietest on a weekday afternoon when schools have left and we have a handful of visitors in the building. Face coverings are no longer mandatory, however, following the science and to keep everybody safe, we do suggest they are worn whilst in the Centre. You'll see that all our teams wear them. We will share your feedback including about the cleaning with our team as we have increased the frequency of our cleaning and are keen that this continues and is visible to visitors as we want to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable day out. We are delighted you had a great day out and look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

The Space Centre is a fun and interactive day out for the family. While the attraction was more aimed at Family Education than I'd expected it still proved a great day out for us childless adults.

The centre is laid out in an easy to navigate format with loads of theming and interactive exhibits to keep you entertained and keep you learning about the science behind space and human life.

The real showstopper, of course, is the Planetarium. This stunning projected show shows you the beauty of space and sums up everything you've learned during your visit about the Big Bang and the chemical make up of planets.

A full day out, highly recommend.

Well worth a visit
Sep 2021 • Friends
Impressive. We spent 4 hours here on Sunday. The exhibits were all very engaging, at every level. Lots for children, but we were 4 adults, and loved every minute. There’s so much to see. The Planetarium show was brilliant. I’ve been meaning to visit this for years and I’d recommend it to anyone. Well worth it, good value, easy parking. Good cafe. More impressive than the Science Museum.

wow.. so much to see
Sep 2021
Booked online, which was so easy, and turned up for the show in the planetarium. We dont often watch these things, but wow.. it was amazing.. the highlight. The space centre is full of everything space ..from the start of the space race, to what is instore in the future, and from mock ups of space hardware, to actual clothes worn by astronauts... There is no set way to walk around, so its tricky not to miss anything. Nice large cafe on site, selling snacks and drinks, but most families were bringing in their own food and drinks

Space - for kids and adults.
Sep 2021
I was worried that it would be totally focussed on kids, but there is plenty for adults interested in spaceflight and astrophysics to enjoy and learn about. I love the range of spaceflight related artifacts and displays, and was pleased to see a good piece on the Mercury 13 women. There were lots of kids there the first day we went but it didn't seem too noisy (the second day was very noisy, with many school parties). The planetarium show is particularly oriented towards kids so I was a bit disappointed in that, but the visuals are great.

What a great day out! So much for the kids to do, our 5 and 3 year old loved it. Loved the planetarium showing and wandering around all the other exhibits. The staff doing activities were fab and totally engaged our kids.
Also loved the picnic area and quieter eating spaces, great for helping the kids when they felt overwhelmed.
Would have loved to have had somewhere I could have filled up water bottles. A lovely member of staff took my bottle to the kitchen when I asked but would have been great to have a place to do this myself as the food and drink queues were very long!

The planetarium was nothing like iv ever experienced before. Myself and the kids loved it. So much to see and learn about and I underestimated the size of the place.
Definitely worth a visit
