- Navigate303352238521 contributionChocolate workshop highly recommendedWe attended the chocolate workshop at Cocoa Amore as part of our team Away Day. It was great - interesting and engaging and hands on. Not only did we learn about the origins of chocolate, we were able to make our own chocolate bar and truffles. We were also given a choice of different delicious hot chocolate drinks and a chocolate included in the workshop ticket. The staff at Cocoa Amore were so lovely and clearly have a passion for chocolate. Ashley was a fab teacher. I'd highly recommend the workshop (suitable for all ages I think and a great Xmas present idea) and the chocolate (I'm now addicted to the chocolate honeycomb and will just have to return for more).Visited October 2023Travelled on businessWritten 6 October 2023
- Sunil CLeicester, United Kingdom11 contributionsDo the chocolate making workshopI did the chocolate making workshop with my sister-in-law last Saturday. We started by learning a bit more about chocolate and how where it is grown impacts on the taste. There was a chocolate tasting to give us an opportunity to try chocolate grown in different regions before we began to make our own chocolate bar and truffles. Our instructor for the afternoon was Ashley and she was engaging and interesting to listen to. She really helped bring things to life. While our chocolate bar and truffles were setting we got to choose either a hot chocolate or gelato (we had gelato which was delicious) with a choice of topping and chocolate. Once refreshments were over we packaged our creations and were given a 10% discount on purchases. It was a good afternoon (2 hours total) and Cocoa Amore is definitely a shop I'll return to, to buy chocolate or just to have a hot chocolate. They also do a special Christmas chocolate wreath workshop. Highly recommended.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 8 October 2023
- Kane BLeicester, United Kingdom1 contributionGreat Chocolate revelationsHonestly this has changed how I will look at chocolate for the rest of my life! The team are so well informed about all things chocolate and your walk away with a lot of knowledge. The accessibility to chocolates of different varieties and tastes was amazing 10/10 experience and making your own chocolate is a messy joy. Thank you to Ashley and the team for an informative and tasty adventure across the chocolate worldVisited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 October 2023
- Drea W4 contributionsNothing sweeter than Ashni, our chocolate teacher!Absolutely brilliant chocolate making class with Ashni! Honestly, so much fun. Educational, messy and sweet or sour haha. My favourite part of the day was actually the brilliant presentation and guidance of Ashni. A true pro. We got to take some lovely hand made choc home and we're defo considering a wreath making course at Xmas with the whole family. Thank you so much Ashni.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 31 October 2023
- kelsey b1 contributionCOCOA AMOREI came across cocoa Amore when walking around with my friend looking for a coffee shop. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the lovely Jen. She brought the greatest smile and energy. She served us the ‘works hot chocolate’ and a ‘cold milk chocolate with a shot of espresso.’ In addition we were able to choose a chocolate each from the counter (these do not disappoint!!!) The drinks and the chocolates were the best we’ve ever had! We now go there regularly and have never ever been let down by the drinks or the customer service. Jen is absolutely amazing at what she does and always sees to her customers exceptionally!Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 7 November 2023

The lady leading the session (Jen, I think) was so knowledgeable, friendly and made the whole workshop thoroughly enjoyable. The session has just the right balance of informative talk/tasting/making, plus you get a hot chocolate break (included with voucher). Workshop also catered brilliantly for me as a veggie/mostly vegan with vegan choc etc. Enjoyed so much we bought vouchers upon leaving so we can book onto the Easter egg workshops next year - already looking forward to it!Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 11 November 2023

Our group was friends and family and we had a fantastic time. We got to sample some milk and dark chocolate as soon as we arrived. Ashni greeted us all at the main entrance and had terrific hosting skills throughout the workshop. She gave us clear instructions whilst injecting a little humour. We were even given a cup of hot sipping chocolate and biscuit, both were delicious. We had so much fun and plenty of laughs, it was memorable. Moreover it was a great thing to do with a big group of people. I would thoroughly recommend this workshop and we are already looking at making this an annual event. Superb.Cocoa Amore = Cocoa With Love (in Italian) My Daughter bought a birthday treat gift to make a chocolate wreath because its close to Christmas but other non seasonal times you can make truffles and a bar of chocolate. It was a brilliant experience. The lady giving the demonstration was so good. She gave clear and precise instructions for us all to follow. We had a design sheet with a circle to represent our wreath and a plastic mould for our creations. The course was booked full and it cost £25 per person. We got to choose from different embellishments to add to our choice of milk or dark chocolate. I chose dark because I love it. And we used golds bronzes and silver glittery edible powders to highlight themVisited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 10 December 2023

- Jennifer B1 contributionChocolate workshop at Cocoa AmourI attended the chocolate workshop taken by Ashmi. She was very knowledgeable on the subject and delivered the course really well. It was informative and packed with information and the practical was excellent creating our own chocolate bar to take home. We had a break in the coffe shop and Jennifer was very accommodating as I don't drink hot drinks I was offered a glass of the coffee pod fruit juice which was delicious. It was a great day out for my mom and myself and we are booked on the Easter course in a few months. Thanks to everyone involved including those behind the scenes.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 26 January 2024

My daughters and I attended an Easter egg making workshop. We had a really enjoyable afternoon, the staff were really nice and there were plenty of sweets and chocolate offered.
I thought the workshop offered great value and the finished eggs were professional looking, we were even given small wooden hammers to crack the eggs with, which was a nice touch.
This is our second workshop and we hope to be back in the future.

We did the chocolate workshop, it was a lot of fun, very informative and we also made a chocolate bar and some truffles. Great selection of toppings to put in the bar, and the hot chocolate given while the bars are setting is one of the best I have ever had.
My only niggle is that the chocolate used for the tasting is all dark chocolate, which I understand the need for, because you are meant to be tasting the difference between the chocolate according to where the cocoa is grown. However the chocolate used for the bar and the truffles is dark too. So even though we had a fab time and it was good fun making them, neither me or my partner are fans of dark chocolate, so we didn't particularly enjoy eating them, which is the only reason I have knocked a star off. I just think, maybe an alternative to dark chocolate would be great. Or add a disclaimer to the description on the website that you must be a fan of dark chocolate. In hindsight, even though it was great value for money, and we had a good time, it is still quite a pricey activity and I perhaps wouldn't have booked it if I had known it is mostly dark chocolate.
I will however be visiting the shop more often, there was a great selection of truffles and chocolate, and we bought some of the hot chocolate buttons, which are delicious!

We got our 2 daughters (17 and 14) a 'Golden Ticket' for Christmas.
This is a chocolate making session for 2 which consists of:
1: Talk on the Origin and History of Cocoa
2: Chocolate tasting from across the Cocoa Belt
3: Truffle Making
4: Create your own box of Chocolates
5: Enjoy one of our Hot Chocolates
6: Gift wrap your chocolates to take home
It takes around 2 1/2 Hrs and they had a fantastic time and I have to say that the Chocolates and truffles they brought home were fantastic
When they came out they both said how good it was and that my wofe and I should also do it.
While I was waiting for them to finish I hd a hot chocolate in the cafe. This is basically a DIY thing that your kids would love. You get a hot glass of milk (Vegan options available btw) a cup of chocolate chips, a whisk and a chocolate of your choice.
Add the chocky chips to the hot milk - trying not to eat too many - and then whisk
Really worth doing
It's in the town centre so you can make a good day of it in Leicester

Every now & then you find a little gem & Cocoa Amore is one of them!
Pete is passionate about his trade & this comes across in his workshops & creation.
And beautiful chocolate, what more cold you want.
Highly recommend attending a workshop or just pop in for a devine hot chocolate.
Love the little touches like you can purchase the 'chocolate high heel shoe' this makes reference to the fact the building was a former shoe manufacturer but also a wonderful something different gift idea.

This was our third workshop visit! We have done the basic workshop, the christmas wreath and now the Easter egg. Every time we have a friend or family come visit from out of town, we bring them here for delicious chocolate and absolutely exquisite hot chocolate. The prices are extremely fair for how high quality and ethically sourced the cocoa is and much of the chocolate available is made in house. I seriously can't recommend Cocoa Amore enough to anyone and everyone who will listen!

What an amazing experience. I went as part of a work activity and we did the chocolate making workshop. Our facilitator and host, Ashni Modi, was fantastic, well informed, engaging and entertaining. We had such fun and learnt things about chocolate that we did not know. The rest of the staff who looked after and served us were also lovely. We loved the whole thing and would highly recommend if you want to do something different. The shop is also lovely, selling lots of delicious and festive chocolate treats. Thank you Cocoa Amore!

This was the best workshop I have ever attended. It was fun, interactive and most important, it included chocolate!!! We got to make our own chocolate bar which was lots of fun and creative and we even made our own truffles which were to die for. The lady who ran the workshop was amazing and so friendly, it made the whole workshop experience fun and enjoyable. We also had a lovely group of people that we were able to interact with. I would definitely recommend this workshop either for yourself or even to gift to a friend

Is it fully wheelchair accessible, Inc parking and toilet
Written 15 March 2017
Hi Sammy,
Thanks for your enquiry. Unfortunately at the moment we are housed in an old Victorian Building which isn't that accessible and on a pedestrianised street in the City centre with little parking around us. As I build the business and draw in more business tho I am planning on investing more in the building to make it more accessible for everyone. I do have many customers who are wheel chair users that have followed me from store to store over the last 8 years and we have a small step on the way in that we are happy to help you in and out of if requested.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards

Are children allowed I would love to do this with my daughter. She is a very sensible 7 yr old?
Written 3 March 2016
HI
Children are allowed and welcome but there are a couple of things to consider, their is a presentation at the beginning of the workshop that lasts about 30 minutes, they have to be physically strong enough to hold a mould full of chocolate and have large enough hands to fit in a pair of gloves. If you would like to discuss things further feel free to call the shop on 01162623278.
Kind regards
