If you don't know the history and if you like reading this place is for you. Essentially a series of graphics and explanatory text. Kind of like a museum without artefacts.
You do get to see his open grave.

We visited here as it was close to our hotel. The centre was fairly quiet but there is a lot to see. There is a cafe on site as well as toilets. Definitely something to do if you're in the area and interested in history.

The story of the birth, death, and finding of King Richard III is a unique one, and one that is told superbly in this magnificent Visitor Centre.

Well laid out information on a complex period of history, with the added bonus of the incredible tale of the eventual uncovering of Richard III and the subsequent confirmation through genetic sampling.
The entrance ticket is valid for 12 months which makes it excellent value and we would recommend the cafe.

Coming back to Leicester 14 years later and finding out about this new Visitor Centre dedicated to the figure of King Richard III has been an amazing experience, a great way to learn about this forgotten King and discover the real events that did occur.

We arrived as the site opened and so had a beautifully uncrowded visit. We thoroughly enjoyed the introductory film but we did feel that it would not have been as good for those with no background knowledge of the characters. The information conveyed on site was fascinating - both about the background history and the body itself.
The gentleman in the area where the body was actually discovered was outstanding (April 21st). Although we had been here before he gave us facts that we didn't know and did it in a very engaging way.
By the time we left, there were quite a number of children on site who seemed to be very involved in some kind of "quest" that they appeared to be thoroughly enjoying.

The most interesting museum I’ve ever visited. The details of the history, the discovery are covered in depth. The exhibits on carbon dating, DNA, facial modeling, just so interesting! This is a not to miss journey into the past and it’s tied to the present.

I recently visited the centre. I would like to leave a review/feedback but could not find out how to do this on the website. Please feel free to use my feedback and my name.
My visit to the KRiii was brilliant. An excellent exhibition well laid out and informative. There were a range of mediums providing information which made it easier to take in everything.
The Visitor guides are very helpful and informative. Customer Service staff are helpful too
The layout is excellent and the café halfway round is well situated. The scientific analysis and archaeological information on the second floor makes you realise how easily this find could have been missed or destroyed. For me the highlight was to see the grave and surrounding excavations
I would thoroughly recommend this tourist attraction

It's totally family friendly with each area offering something for all ages - the upstairs looks at how they uncovered the remains and is very interactive.

I have been a fan of King Richard even before he was found in the car park so a trip to Leicester is a must on my upcoming trip to the U.K.! I will be taking the train from London and plan to purchase advance train tickets. How long should I plan to spend in Leicester visiting both the Visitor Center and the Cathedral? Aside from Bosworth Field, what other sights are recommended? Any other tips? Thank you!

If you allow 2hrs for the Richard III centre and 30 minutes for the cathedral that would probably be sufficient, but I recommend you stop by the Guildhall, it’s right next to the Cathedral and Just a short walk away is St. Nicks, Leicester’s oldest place of worship and right next to that is the Jewry Wall museum which is really good. You could then go to Wyggeston House for a drink and then stroll through the castle gardens, depending on the weather

Do you have reductions in the entry fee for senior citizens, please?
Also, is there a joint price ticket for visits to the Bosworth Battle Field site and your museum ?
KRIIITeam
Leicester, UK
Hello,
Our Senior Citizen ticket is a reduced price of £8.00. A joint ticket for Bosworth Battlefield and the King Richard III Visitor Centre is £13.00 which is again a reduced rate on admission for both attractions.
We look forward to seeing you soon.

KRIII Visitor Centre Team
