Very nice meadows in Leicester, for those who want to walking with dogs and take kids out. You can see the nature there and some wild animals too.

Use this facility frequently. Mixed habitat, plenty of wildlife. I have seen red kites, buzzards, badgers, muntjacs along with the more easily accessible wildlife. Aylestone meadows covers a large area. Very dog friendly and easy walking terrain

I went here as part of a small party with school kids (9 - 11 YO boys) doing outdoor activities. Small clearings in the woods allow for the teaching of fire building skills and other wood craft. (But please make sure they get fully extinguished)....More

Plenty of open spaces, by the canal so can watch the boats, nice walks and nature areas. the Kings Lock Cafe on the side of the Canal is a great place to visit
