Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sick to death of listening to the clientele of this place being calm and having a mellow time. It's massively improved and our love of the garden in the evening knows no bounds. The landlord's dog is a real character and will greet every customer as they enter. Lovely, amiable people. Complaint going into council about Snake Eyes not being on for several weeks but the selection is always great. Between them and the yums from Anatolia our lovely quiet area has begun to boom. How beer gardens were ever approved in a residential area is a miracle.

This pub is described as a 'micro pub' but it is more spacious than other micro pubs that I have been in. There's a snug and a library inside in addition to the bar area. The snug was nice and warm on a cold night thanks to a log burning stove. Very tasty selection of cask ales at a variety of strengths and styles and from a variety of breweries. There is a good selection of wine and spirits. Very pleased that there the keg offering included lager as my wife does not drink ale. Ambience and service excellent. I will return!

Awesome spot for a quality drink with a great range of beer, gin and more. Classic chalkboard available telling you all about the beers so you can make the best choice. Really well done inside with plenty of character in the decor etc. We loved it and will be going back!

Sick to death of listening to the clientele of this place yelling and screaming. It's completely ruined our enjoyment of the garden in the evening - can't even sit and watch TV with the patio doors open. Not only that but the owners allow their dog to constantly bark. Selfish, ignorant people. Complaint going into council. Between them and the racket from Anatolia our lovely quiet area has gone sharply downhill. How beer gardens were ever approved in a residential area is criminal..

We visited on 20th January at the new venue. It was packed at about 6.45. The website says not noisy. It was so noisy we went downstairs with our drinks. There had been a Rugby match on in the City. I imagine if there is a band on it’s worse still. Good selection of drinks.

Love it! Real character to the place. Took me back to my senior school years. Lots of talking points. Original idea. Great choice of gins. Great gin glasses. I didn’t partake in the real ales.
Quite possibly my new local when we move to the area in a few weeks.
But sssh I want to keep it a secret.

Great place for me to go for a quiet drink with lovely beer, friendly staff and my kids love the range of lemonades. Wide range of ales lager and gin. Ideal for pre dinner drinks.

Went here at 10.10 Easter Thursday, bank holiday weekend. Barman wasn’t at all friendly. His first words were “your lucky to have just made last orders we close at 10.15 tonight!” We ordered a couple of G&Ts drank them quickly and went elsewhere. While sitting drinking them we spoke to a couple of regulars who’d just turned up, they informed us that it doesn’t shut at 10.15 as the barman told us. They were annoyed that he was shutting early as well. They drank up quickly and left. Wouldn’t waste my time here. The staff are rude and very unwelcoming. Shame as it’s a really funky little place and the drinks were really nice!!

We came in for the beer but found there were a great range of wines too, staff are friendly and there are a few rooms to choose from.
All round a great bar - particularly enjoyed the London black but all the ales looked excellent.
