The weather on the morning of the tour was incredibly icy. When I arrived, it turned out that all other bookings had cancelled. I absolutely didn’t expect the tour to proceed just for me, but Chrissy insisted. I lived in Lincoln for seven years and discovered so much, so many amazing stories. Chrissy is super engaging, and you can tell she really enjoys delivering insights into Lincoln’s amazing history. Definitely something to do if you have a spare few hours - whatever the weather!

Super Walking Tour!

Absolutely loved this tour! My friend and I are both local but wanted to find out a little more about Lincoln. Hannah and Matt were both excellent. Informative and well delivered and only 4 of us so felt like VIPS. Will return and would recommend!

Fabulous walking tour with Chrissy , full of great information and delivered in a fun way. Would highly recommend . Kept us interested and although nearly 3 hours it flew by.

Excellent tours very interesting

We have done two different tours now with Lincoln Free Walking Tours.
The roman tour as a family of 4 (kids aged 13 and 8) and the industry and innovation tour as a couple.
Both were an amazing 2 hours. Very informative. A good balance of information, photos and questions etc.
Very knowledgeable tour guides.

Absolute must do if visiting the city - superb!

Our son is studying at the University of Lincoln and we decided to all take the Saturday historic walking tour while visiting him for the weekend. The weather wasn’t great but our brilliant guide, Chrissy, did not let that affect the tour at all. The city is quite compact so we didn’t actually cover much distance in the 3 hours, but we saw and learned so much! Chrissy was really friendly and made the absolute boat load of information interesting and enjoyable. Her passion for the city and its history really shines through. We’ll definitely be back to do one of the other tours.

Whether you have lived here all your life or are just visiting you will thoroughly enjoy a walk with Matthew and Brant. They offer free walks and three themed walks- Roman Lincoln, Industry of Lincoln and pubs of Lincoln. It is the entertaining details they point out to you which makes the time fly. Please support this venture as they are such an asset to the city.

An invaluable way to get to know beautiful Lincoln

This is the second time we’ve been on the Walking Tour, and can still recommend it as much as the first time! Chrissy was a fantastic guide, despite the rain, and showed us so many things that we just wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Please do go if you get the chance-all the guides are excellent, giving up their precious time at weekends to show people round, and it is an invaluable way to get to know the beautiful city of Lincoln.

A must do on a trip to Lincoln

A must do on a trip to Lincoln. Our guide was amazing.
We learnt so much on the tour and saw places that we wouldn't have seen if we hadn't have joined.
Fun and informative and great for all ages.
Made our trip easier as we did this Saturday morning and meant we then knew where things were to go back to over the weekend.

What a great Tour, big thank you to Chrissy who took our tour, the weather may not have been great but we loved every second, we learned so much on the 3 hour tour of Lincoln, and learned so much more than if we had just wondered around ourselves . Would highly recommend and will come back to Lincoln to do their Nee Pub tour due to launch which sounds great!

3 hour walking tour of Lincoln

It was an excellent, informative and enjoyable free three hour walking tour of Lincoln city. The talk covered the history of Lincoln from Roman to Medieval and modern times. Brant was very knowledgeable and it was particularly interesting to me, that our guide knew so much about the buildings as he is an architect. The pace of the walk was good and the talk provided much anecdotal local information which would be difficult or impossible to find in a book. I would really recommend this trip. Well done!
