The grandeur of the castle is magnificent. Steeped in history. Very popular, and being able to walk round the top of the walls gives you a truly amazing view of a beautiful town. A definite must see.

The castle itself is iconic, but the true highlight is seeing the Magna Carta. If it's a nice day, highly recommend the Castle Wall Walk with the self-guided audio tour. Only complaint is that several of the numbered stops for audio points of interest are missing their numbers or too easy to miss. Parts of the Victorian Prison were interesting... More

It costs £5 or £4 for OAPs to access the Castle Walkway but this is an absolute must if visiting Lincoln. The panoramic 360 degree view of the city is amazing. There is a spiral staircase or a lift to get upto the top and either listen to the commentary on the individual radios or there are information plaques at... More

Beautiful setting with views of the Cathedral. Some fantastic building inside and a great walk around the medieval walls to enjoy. It is incredible that the courthouse is still in use and adds to the setting. The Magna Carta exhibit was really interesting and informative, while the Victorian Jail has a lot of exhibits to keep people of all ages... More

In recent years they have spent a considerable amount of dough renovating Lincoln castle. This doesn't mean it now has all mod cons. It's a castle. That wouldn't be appropriate. However what it does mean is that you can now walk all the ay around the walls, take a look at one of the original copies of the Magna Carta... More

Well worth the visit. The prison is a must to tour as is the highly recommended Castle Wall Walk. You must get the free audio tour for this walk. If you are in to history this is for you.

We were disappointed not to be able to go on a guided tour especially since the lady on the cathedral ticket rang the castle to find out the times of tours so could co-ordinate it with our tour in the cathedral. She was told the times if the tours and we went across only to find there were no tours... More

An excellent place to visit with 3 major must see parts. Firstly the victorian prison is excellent with some good presentations within the cells. Especially interesting is the prison chapel which is very very unusual and rather macabre. Secondly The walk along the castle walls with an audio guide is a must and allows you to see over the whole... More
