Enjoyed our visit to the castle. Lots to see and walk around. You can walk around the top of the outside walk, see the Magna Carta plus the old prisons and cells prisoners were kept before execution. Good views of the Cathedral and city.

Visited in half term with my family and really enjoyed it. Was worried with a 5year and also a 4 month old that I would struggle either dealing with boredom or a pram and boy was I wrong! Really impressed with the lift access for prams to all the main attractions. My 5 year old was in her element waking... More

Nice Magna Carta display, with a short explanatory film that taught me a great deal about the subject. Weather was awful during our visit so we spent only a short time up on the castle wall. The prison exhibits were also interesting

Although it was heavy rain on and off, my Husband and I enjoyed walking round the castle, inside and out. We walked along the battlements and used the free audio tour. We also took advantage of the guided tour of the grounds - the volunteer was very knowledgeable. We also had a drink and snake in the castle coffee shop... More

Went during storm Doris, hats off to the guide, he stuck at the tour irrespectively of the wind. Interesting tour. I have been before some time ago and can see where the money has been spent since last time. Excellent new Magna Carta exhibition and the jail is very good. Glad we went but go when the wind is not... More

This place has something for everyone. There is history galore, views over the countryside, spooky tales, the Magna Carta, a good cafe and loads of space for kids to run off their energy in a safe environment. Even if the weather is not fabulous, it is still good fun.

Had a great time here, well worth the money. Saw the Magna Carta watched a video explaining the story. The prison was amazing great for kids with the interactive learning media. To finish we did the wall walk take a camera for the brilliant views of Lincolnshire.

Buy a combined ticket with cathedral excellent value. It was great staff friendly, guided tour by Mike Castello fabulous. He brought history to life. He has inspired my daughters and enjoyed their visit to the Victorian prison and viewing the manga carts. It was great to go somewhere where it was about content no trying to sell you things. Gift...
