The Fab Four Taxi Tour in Liverpool is the only way to go for hard-core Beatles fans. Our guide, John H made this stay in Liverpool most memorable. What an experience being in the places that magically gave birth to the Beatles. John wove each of their stories together with meticulous detail bringing to life the lyrics and stories we’ve listened to over the decades. We couldn’t help but feel the humor of the boys in our guide’s anecdotes and snippets. From John’s childhood home to nearby Strawberry Fields, location of the orphanage where John romped and was warned by Aunt Mimi that he would “get hung about”, to the bus line where George, 12, and Paul, 13 met, and to St. Peter’s church where Paul was invited to join John’s band, The Quarrymen. You’ll come away with insight into the joys and struggles of John and Paul in their youths and connections to the people and places in Penny Lane, the barbershop, the banker man who never wears a Mac in the pouring rain, and the pretty nurse selling poppies behind the shelter in the middle of the roundabout. While visiting Ringo’s colorful neighborhood and the home of his birth , you’ll hear details of how he emerged from serious childhood illnesses and absences from school, having been introduced to percussion in the sanatorium during his two-year recovery from tuberculosis, to serendipitously become the quintessential drummer for the Beatles. It was all exquisitely woven together on this private taxi tour. Thank you so much John.
